This involves independently implementing solutions that have limited system-wide impact.\nDay-to-Day Responsibilities\nEnvironment Administration & Support\nMaintaining network resources, including configuration of network switches, server hardware, PBX/VoIP systems, operating systems, applications and services in a wired and wireless environment.\nMaintaining and improving network operations and provide support to network users.\nConfiguring and maintaining network components (e.g., routers, switches, etc.) and services (i.e., connectivity and access).\nPerforming custom configuration for complex network devices such as firewalls and VPN concentrators.\nReconfiguring network equipment as necessary to handle environmental changes.\nPerforming network troubleshooting to isolate and diagnose complex network problems with minor supervision, implementing solutions that have limited system-wide impact.\nEscalating issues with broader implications for entire network to higher level network personnel or Technical Director.\nMaintaining the wireless authentication tool(s) for the campus and serve as the primary point of contact for campus community support.\nAdministering servers both in a Virtual and Physical environment.\nUtilizing monitoring tools to capture and analyze traffic, maintaining uptime, generating usage reports, and spotting trends.\nCreating and maintaining documentation and diagrams as needed when assets are added or removed.\nSupporting Cisco and VOIP telecom environments including performing adds/moves/changes of phone equipment, and ensuring that our environment stays current with product releases.\nProviding users with technical support; establishing network users, user environments, and directories for networks being installed.\nInstalling and testing necessary software and hardware in accordance with standards based settings and Ellucian Change Management processes.\nAdditional Day-to-Day Responsibilities\nMaintaining network resources, including configuration of network switches, access points, and related hardware in a wired and wireless environment.\nMaintaining and improving network operations and provide support to network users.\nConfiguring and maintaining network components (e.g., routers, switches, etc.) and services (i.e., connectivity and access).\nPerforming custom configuration for complex network devices such and hardware in accordance with standards based settings and Ellucian Change Management processes.\nProviding support and access to network replacement vendor.\nSkills\nTechnical Skills\nExperience & strong knowledge of configuring & troubleshooting Cisco IOS networking devices.\nExperience & working knowledge of Microsoft Server operating systems, Microsoft Active Directory Doman Services & Server roles such as DNS & DHCP.\nExperience with network administration skills including security, back-up, recovery & capacity planning.\nBroad-based, in-depth knowledge & hands-on experience implementing network switches & routers.\nPractical experience with Cisco phone systems & VOIP system administration.\nWorking knowledge of Linux & Windows server operating systems.\nFamiliarity with network monitoring systems such as SolarWinds.\nCisco IOS (CCNA) certification & appropriate professional certifications preferred.\nProfessional Skills\nExcellent time-management, planning & interpersonal skills.\nEffectively manage scope & customer expectations on individual assignments.\nMust have the ability to work effectively with end-users, gain their confidence, understand their with collapsed core design, and related networking devices.\nDemonstrated experience with an Aruba ClearPass environment with Aruba wireless controllers.\nMicrosoft Active Directory Doman Services & Server roles such as DNS & DHCP.\nExperience with network administration skills including security, back-up, recovery & capacity planning.\nBroad-based, in-depth knowledge & hands-on experience
