Magnolia Press - Barista

SUMMARY  

At Magnolia, the Barista is responsible forcreating the Magnolia Press experience for our guests by providing prompt service and quality beverages, as well as maintaininga clean and comfortable environment, in line with the Magnolia brand. Baristas may also assist atother Magnolia foodsentities as business needs require it. This position works fromMagnolia Press in Waco, Texas. It reports to the Store Manager and has no supervisory responsibilities.    

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES  

• Maintain a calm and friendly demeanor during periods of high volume   
• Anticipate guest needs and provide exceptional guest service* 
• Perform cash wrap and point of sale duties in an efficient and timelymanner  
• Educate guests by presenting and explaining the menu and answering questions   
• Prepare and sell food and drink products by following approved recipes, preparation, and cooking or baking techniques; ensuring that all equipment is properly utilizedper recipe and safety guidelines* 
• Prepare ingredients for each recipe by chopping, dicing, slicing, washing, and using additionaltechniques as needed  
• Handle, prepare, and store food in ways that prevent foodborne illnesses and ensure compliance with all food safety standards* 
• Finish all product to specific visual requirements in accordance withMagnolia standards  
• Communicate with management regardingstatus of products, quality control issues, problems with equipment, or unusual conditions; adhering to establishedloss prevention and inventory control procedures* 
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment   
• Evaluate and modifyprocesses in order toimprove efficiency and quality of service   
• Contribute to a positive team environment, including giving and receiving feedback and assistingin other Silos Foods entities as needed 
• Perform other duties as assigned

 ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS  

• High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred 
• 0-1years of related work experience preferred 
• Food Handler's license requiredupon hire 
• Must be available to work weekends, evenings, special events, and holidays as business needs require 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS  

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands and arms to reach, handle, feel; utilize fine motor dexterity of fingers; talk or hear and taste or smell. The employee is frequently required to stand and walk. The employee is frequently required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. The employee is expected to utilize team lifting techniques when lifting bulky items or items weighing above 50 pounds and up to 120 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. WORK ENVIRONMENT  

While performing the duties of this job, the employee operates in a fast-paced kitchen environment. The employee routinely uses sinks, ovens, and tools to clean kitchen appliances. The employee is frequently exposed to hot water, potentially slippery floors, garbage disposals, and cleaning chemicals. The employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
