This includes user guides, support materials, and technical documentation for system operations. The Technical Writer will work with developers, product managers, and subject matter experts to explain system functions and processes clearly and keep materials current as applications change.\nPrimary Duties and Responsibilities\nWrite and maintain user guides, standard operating procedures (SOPs), FAQs, knowledge articles, and technical reference materials.\nExplain technical concepts and application processes in plain language for technical and non-technical users.\nWork with developers, product managers, and subject matter experts to verify how systems work and document changes.\nDocument user registration, navigation, data entry, reporting, and other application workflows.\nUpdate guides and reference materials as features, business rules, and processes change.\nPrepare release notes, system change summaries, and implementation instructions as needed.\nOrganize documents in approved repositories and maintain version history.\nCreate knowledge-transfer materials and troubleshooting instructions to support ongoing operations and transitions.\nEnsure electronic documents and support content meet applicable Section 508 and WCAG requirements.\nUse support tickets and user feedback to improve FAQs and self-service instructions.\nAdd screenshots and process diagrams where they make instructions easier to follow.\nParticipate in Agile reviews and confirm documentation is ready for each release.\nMinimum Qualifications\nBachelor's degree in Technical Communication, English, Communications, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.\nAt least 4 years of experience writing technical documentation or user guidance for software applications.\nAbility to explain technical material clearly to different audiences.\nExperience documenting system workflows, procedures, and software changes.\nExperience maintaining user guides, SOPs, FAQs, or knowledge articles.\nKnowledge of plain-language writing and Section 508/WCAG accessibility requirements.\nStrong writing, editing, organizational, and collaboration skills.\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience supporting CMS, HHS, federal digital services, or healthcare technology.\nExperience documenting enterprise web applications or data-intensive systems.\nExperience producing release documentation and maintaining version-controlled content.\nExperience with Confluence, SharePoint, GitHub, Markdown, or similar documentation tools.\nFamiliarity with Jira and Agile software delivery.\nExperience creating accessible diagrams and documents with tools such as Visio or
