We hope so.\nThe Engineer II will be responsible for the day-to-day maintenance and repair of hotel facilities, ensuring the highest standards of safety, functionality, and guest satisfaction. This role will perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot, and address repair needs for electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and other mechanical systems. The Engineer II works independently on routine projects and collaborates with the Engineering Team on larger or more complex tasks.Essential Functions\nGuest Room & Public Area Maintenance\nPerform repairs such as plunging toilets, unclogging drains, repairing hardware, plumbing, and electrical equipment, including lamps, air conditioners, and cosmetic items.\nReplace electrical switches and outlets and program TVs as needed.\nAddress repairs and adjustments to hardware, plumbing, electrical, HVAC equipment, and cosmetic items in public spaces.\nFire Alarm/Life Safety Systems\nMonitor fire alarm and life safety systems, ensuring proper functionality during emergencies.\nMaintain a working knowledge of fire sprinkler and emergency power systems to respond efficiently to emergencies.\nMonitor energy and utility usage throughout the hotel, looking for opportunities to reduce consumption.\nReport any potential energy-saving strategies to the Engineering Management team.\nSafety Prevention & Emergency Response\nBe available for emergencies to protect guests, associates, and the building.\nRespond quickly and responsibly to restore building operations and report any emergencies to Engineering Management.\nFollow departmental Job Safety Analysis guidelines, striving for a safe and accident-free workplace.\nIdentify and address any conditions that may pose a danger to associates or guests and take immediate action to resolve them.\nDepartmental Responsibilities\nClean and organize all engineering areas as directed by management.\nMaintain a neat and efficient work area, ensuring all tasks are completed professionally and promptly.\nLog, track, and interpret readings from meters, gauges, and other measuring devices.\nMaintain a thorough record of daily activities and ensure clear communication between shifts.\nClean, lubricate, protect, and maintain all tools and equipment.\nEnsure that all tools are properly stored after use and that personal tool pouches are secured.\nFollow up on any items on backorder and keep supervisors informed of assignment progress.\nTraining & Development\nProvide technical advice and training to other engineers as needed.\nStrive to become an independent mechanic capable of analyzing and solving problems efficiently while delivering high-quality work.\nPhysical Demand\nAbility to sit or stand for extended Standards\nEducation & Experience\nA high school diploma or equivalent and technical or trade school certification in building maintenance or related fields is a plus.\nMinimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in general maintenance or engineering in a hospitality or similar environment.\nStrong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.\nAbility to troubleshoot and repair a wide range of equipment.\nKnowledge of fire alarms, emergency power, and energy management systems.\nExcellent communication skills, working well with other departments and handling guest interactions
