Oxbow Bar & Grill Bartenders will also be responsible for making alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages by the recipe and delivering high quality food and drinks in a clean and friendly environment.Essential Functions\nGeneral knowledge of cocktail crafting and mixology fundamentals\nCurate guests’ bar experience by making recommendations\nKnowledge of all beverages to include liquors, wines, and beers\nServe guests in an efficient courteous manner following the proper steps of service\nKnowledge of proper cocktail making, as trained by Oxbow Bar & Grill\nHave necessary tools to run the shift such as pen, corkscrew, bar tools, etc.\nAbility to pair wines with meals\nUnderstanding that the bar serves full food & drink menu and must be prepared to serve full coursed and/or shared meals to guests\nLight food running when applicable, ability to carry plates that may be warm or hot\nKnowledge of all menu items to include prep time, preparations, sauces, allergies, and accompaniments\nCollect and process payment for food and beverages served\nFollow standard TIPS practices to ensure safe and responsible serving of alcohol\nBe aware of any specials, soups, drinks, and any items that are running low\nAbility to handle station, or when situations arise, ability to let manager/supervisor know ahead of time of any issues that may affect the guest experience\nFollow appropriate cash handling procedures as established by Accounting, and must be able to explain shortages and overages\nMaintain a clean and orderly bar area\nClean glasses, utensils, coolers, and bar equipment\nPerform other duties as management requests to service our guests.\nQualification Standards\nEducation & Experience\nHigh School diploma or higher\nPrevious hospitality experience required\nMinimum 2-year bartending experience in high volume bar or restaurant preferable in the Southwest, Florida area\nExcellent customer service skills\nExcellent communication skills, both verbal and written\nAbility to use technology e.g. tablets, iPads \nPhysical Demands\nAbility to lift 20 pounds or more\nAbility to sit or stand for extended periods of time\nAbility to communicate clearly\nCorrected vision to normal range\nAbility to work long hours as needed\nMental Demands\nMake sound judgments quickly\nWork on multiple tasks, making appropriate progress towards deadlines\nAble to work independently, take direction, and provide direction to others\nManage differing personalities within the office, the hotel, and the community\nMaintain the highest degree of confidentiality\nAbility to work effectively in stressful, high pressure situations\nAbility to effectively handle challenges in the workplace, including anticipating, preventing, identifying, and solving problems as necessary\nNOTICE: The hotel business functions seven days a week, 24 hours a day.
