Operate is the phase that tells you what actually happened, and it is ours.\nWhat You’ll Do:\nDesign, build, and operate MaintainX’s public-facing REST APIs, with a focus on consistency, scalability, and great developer experience. Head over here!\n\nImplement platform standards and patterns: authentication/authorization, rate limiting, versioning, filtering, pagination, idempotency, error semantics, and backwards compatibility.\n\nDesign and implement robust batch and bulk API operations that enable high-volume data synchronization and large-scale migration workflows for enterprise customers.\n\nDecouple the REST API layer from monolithic dependencies while implementing strong contract testing to ensure GraphQL changes do not impact REST API stability, improving overall reliability and iteration speed.\n\nBuild scaffolding, templates, and shared libraries that make connector/integration development faster and more consistent.\n\nImprove CI/CD pipelines, release automation, and quality gates for integrations and ecosystem services.\n\nProduce strong developer documentation and reference implementations (For eg. SDKs).\n\nContribute to the infrastructure and workflows that allows integrations to be published, versioned, and supported in our internal or external integrations marketplace (Eg. Workato, Tray).\n\nEnable automation-driven onboarding flows (e.g., connection creation, credential management, environment configuration).\n\nBuild standardized integration foundations and reusable building blocks for enterprise systems (e.g., SAP recipes and BTP building blocks; productized Oracle EBS/NetSuite and Microsoft D365 integrations).\n\nEnsure integrations meet enterprise expectations around security, auditability, performance, and operability.\n\nOwn production services and platform components end-to-end: monitoring, on-call, incident response, root-cause analysis, and iterative hardening.\n\nDrive performance tuning and reliability improvements based on data (SLIs/SLOs, logs, traces, and metrics).\n\nAbout You:\n4+ years of professional software engineering experience building backend systems, APIs, or platform products (seniority flexible based on impact and scope).\n\nStrong experience with service-oriented backend development and one of the following languages (TypeScript, Go, C#) and willingness to learn other languages based on context.\n\nStrong experience working with relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL) including schema design, query optimization, and data modeling.\n\nSolid foundation in distributed systems fundamentals: reliability, scalability, consistency, and failure modes.\n\nExperience shipping production-grade APIs and thinking deeply about developer experience and platform usability.\n\nStrong testing mindset (unit, integration, end to end and contract testing) and hands-on CI/CD experience.\n\nComfortable collaborating cross-functionally with Product, Design, and customer-facing teams, while keeping work centered on scalable product solutions (not one-off implementations).\n\nNice to Have:\nExperience with integration ecosystems: API platforms, SDKs, iPaaS/connectors, marketplaces, webhooks/events, ETL/sync patterns.\n\nFamiliarity with enterprise identity/security patterns (OAuth2/OIDC, API keys, token rotation, least privilege).\n\nExperience with ERP ecosystems (SAP S/4HANA or ECC 6, SAP BTP, Oracle EBS/NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics).\n\nExperience building self-serve admin/debug tooling for external developers/customers.\n\nExperience with Workato, Tray, or Zapier from a product/platform engineering perspective (e.g., building connectors, not just recipes, workflows, or zaps-though familiarity with those is valuable too).\n\nOur mission is to keep the physical world running.
