When the parts matter most, the world’s innovators make them with Makino.\nThe Opportunity\nWe’re seeking an Applications Engineer with deep experience in aerospace machining to join our team. In this role, you’ll provide technical expertise that supports our sales force and customers, with a focus on aerospace structural and engine components. You’ll leverage your skills in multi-axis machining (3, 4, and 5-axis) and high-speed cutting techniques to lead test cuts, demonstrations, training, and technical knowledge transfer.\nThis is a hands-on engineering role based at our corporate headquarters in Mason, OH, with travel to customer sites as needed.\nWhat You’ll Do\nPerform test cuts and machining demonstrations for aerospace structural and engine components.\n\nPartner with the sales team to evaluate customer requirements and support turnkey machine proposals.\n\nProgram, set up, tool, and prove out machining processes for test cut requests that lead to new business.\n\nDeliver on-site customer startup training and ensure smooth technical knowledge transfer.\n\nTeach classes and conduct technical sessions on aerospace machining applications and high-speed techniques.\n\nWhat We’re Looking For\nBachelor’s degree in a technical field, or 5+ years of relevant experience.\n\n3+ years of experience in aerospace engine component manufacturing.\n\nHands-on expertise with setup, programming, and operation of multi-axis machining centers (3, 4, and 5-axis).\n\nPrior experience with Makino equipment is a plus.\n\nStrong communication skills and professional presence when working directly with customers.\n\nTechnical aptitude, logical troubleshooting, and sound decision-making skills.\n\nProficiency with Microsoft Office tools.\n\nWillingness to travel 25-40% (short-duration trips).\n\nWe believe that the interests of our company and people are inseparable, and we are committed to developing a diverse team of creative and independent professionals.
