When companies make the parts that matter for automotive, aerospace, medical, die-mold and other industries worldwide, they make them with Makino. \nThe Opportunity\nThe Aerospace Applications Engineer is responsible for supporting the sales force, from a technical applications engineering viewpoint, with primary focus on aerospace structural components and aerospace engine component manufacturing for test cuts, machine demonstrations and customer startup and training. This is an opportunity to focus your experience with multi-axis (3, 4, and 5 axis), high speed machining techniques, and disciplines working on the most state-of-the-art machines in the industry. This position will cover the Mid Central region (TX, KS, OK and MO). \nEssential Duties and Responsibilities\nPerform test cuts and machine demonstrations for aerospace parts - both structural and engine components.\nProvide applications engineering support to sales by visiting customer facilities and assisting with potential machine and turnkey proposals.\nSet-up, generating NC program, build tooling, conducting prove-out, and completing test cut requests from sales inquiries leading to machine orders.\nPerform customer start-up training and transfer technical knowledge at customer facilities.\nRequired Skills\nProficient in CAD/CAM generated CNC programming - is preferred\nSelf-motivated and ability to work in a team environment.\nAbility to interface with potential customers and present a professional image.\nTechnical aptitude, creative problem solving, and logical troubleshooting skills.\nFamiliarity with Microsoft Office products required.\nEducation and Required Experience\nBachelor’s degree (preferred) or equivalent in a technical field, or 5 years' or more related experience.\n3-5 years of experience with aerospace structural and/or engine type component manufacturing.\n3-5 years of experience with setup, programming, and operations of multi-axis (3, 4 & 5 axis) machining centers.\nPrior experience with Makino machine operation preferred but not required.\nWillingness to travel, mostly regionally (30-40%).\nBenefits\nCompetitive salary & top-notch benefits (401(k), disability, bonus program).\n3 weeks paid time off in first year. 1 week personal\nBase salary plus supplemental pay (OT over 45 hours)\nInclusive, supportive culture.\nWe believe that the interests of our company and people are inseparable, and we are committed to developing a diverse team of creative and independent professionals.
