The Field Service Engineer plays a critical role in ensuring our customers achieve maximum machine performance, reliability, and productivity.\nKey Responsibilities\nCustomer Support & Technical Service\nServe as the primary technical liaison between Makino and assigned customers.\nDiagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, CNC control, hydraulic, pneumatic, and automation-related issues.\nPerform preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, and emergency service calls.\nUtilize advanced troubleshooting techniques to identify root causes and implement effective solutions.\nEscalate complex technical issues when necessary and collaborate with product support teams to ensure timely resolution.\nInstallation & Commissioning\nInstall, commission, and validate Makino machine tools and related equipment at customer facilities.\nVerify machine performance against factory specifications and customer requirements.\nSupport machine relocations, upgrades, retrofits, and system integrations.\nTraining & Customer Development\nTrain customer operators and maintenance personnel on machine operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.\nPromote best practices that improve machine uptime and operational efficiency.\nDevelop and maintain positive relationships with customers through professional communication and service excellence.\nDocumentation & Reporting\nComplete detailed service reports, installation reports, and expense documentation in a timely manner.\nMaintain accurate records of service activities, parts usage, and machine performance.\nUtilize company systems and digital tools to support service operations and knowledge sharing.\nQualifications\nRequired\nTechnical degree, associate degree, or equivalent training in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Mechatronics, Industrial Maintenance, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.\nMinimum of 3 years of experience troubleshooting industrial equipment, CNC machine tools, automation systems, or related manufacturing technology.\nAbility to read and interpret electrical schematics, hydraulic diagrams, and mechanical drawings.\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills.\nExcellent communication and customer service abilities.\nValid driver's license and ability to travel extensively throughout Brazil.\nAbility to work independently and manage multiple priorities.\nPreferred\nExperience servicing CNC machine tools.\nFamiliarity with Fanuc CNC controls.\nExperience with servo systems, PLCs, industrial networking, and automation systems.\nEnglish language proficiency for communication with global technical support teams.\nPrevious experience in a field service or customer support environment.\nTravel Requirements\nFrequent travel throughout São Paulo State and other regions of Brazil.\nOvernight travel required based on customer needs.\nOccasional international travel for training and development opportunities.\nWhy Makino?\nWork with industry-leading CNC machining and automation technology.\nComprehensive technical training and professional development.\nOpportunity to work with a diverse customer base across key manufacturing industries.\nCollaborative and customer-focused culture.\nCompetitive compensation and benefits package.\nAt Makino, our people make the difference.
