The ideal candidate has strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and logistics-coordination skills.\nKey Responsibilities\nDaily Operations Management\nOversee daily transportation and logistics operations.\n\nMonitor shipment activity from scheduling through delivery.\n\nEnsure operational tasks are completed accurately and on schedule.\n\nCoordinate with dispatchers, logistics coordinators, drivers, carriers, customers, and vendors.\n\nIdentify operational bottlenecks and implement appropriate solutions.\n\nPrioritize time-sensitive shipments and operational issues.\n\nTeam Leadership\nSupervise and support logistics, dispatch, and administrative personnel.\n\nEstablish daily priorities and communicate operational expectations.\n\nMonitor employee workloads and workflow efficiency.\n\nProvide coaching, training, and performance feedback.\n\nAssist with onboarding and training new operations personnel.\n\nPromote a professional, accountable, and collaborative work environment.\n\nDispatch & Transportation Coordination\nOversee dispatch and scheduling activities.\n\nMonitor driver and carrier availability.\n\nReview pickup and delivery schedules for potential conflicts.\n\nEnsure dispatch personnel have accurate shipment information.\n\nAssist with resolving delays, missed appointments, route changes, and other operational exceptions.\n\nEscalate significant transportation or safety concerns appropriately.\n\nShipment Management\nMonitor active shipments and delivery progress.\n\nReview shipment status reports and exception notifications.\n\nCoordinate responses to delayed or disrupted shipments.\n\nEnsure customers receive appropriate operational updates.\n\nWork with carriers and drivers to resolve routine service issues.\n\nTrack proof-of-delivery and required shipment documentation.\n\nCustomer Service & Account Support\nSupport the resolution of customer service issues.\n\nCommunicate with key customers regarding significant operational matters.\n\nCoordinate internally to address recurring customer concerns.\n\nMonitor service quality and customer-impacting issues.\n\nPartner with customer-success or account-management personnel to improve service delivery.\n\nCarrier & Vendor Management\nMaintain professional relationships with transportation carriers and vendors.\n\nMonitor carrier performance and service reliability.\n\nCoordinate vendor scheduling and operational requirements.\n\nReview recurring carrier issues and recommend improvements.\n\nAssist with evaluating operational service providers when requested.\n\nPerformance Management\nMonitor operational KPIs such as on-time pickups, on-time deliveries, shipment exceptions, cancellations, and service issues.\n\nPrepare daily, weekly, and monthly operations reports.\n\nIdentify recurring operational trends.\n\nRecommend process improvements based on operational data.\n\nMonitor team productivity and workflow performance.\n\nProcess Improvement\nEvaluate existing logistics workflows and identify opportunities for improvement.\n\nDevelop and implement practical operational procedures.\n\nImprove communication between dispatch, customer service, accounting, and logistics teams.\n\nHelp standardize scheduling, documentation, and exception-management processes.\n\nSupport technology and system improvements.\n\nMaintain appropriate operational procedures and checklists.\n\nDocumentation & Compliance Support\nEnsure operational records are maintained accurately.\n\nMonitor required driver, carrier, shipment, and vendor documentation.\n\nSupport internal compliance processes.\n\nCoordinate documentation required for audits or management reviews.\n\nEscalate regulatory or compliance concerns to qualified personnel.\n\nFinancial & Administrative Coordination\nWork with accounting regarding carrier invoices, shipment charges, and operational expenses.\n\nReview operational information supporting billing when requested.\n\nMonitor certain operating expenses and identify unusual variances.\n\nAssist management with operational budgeting and planning.\n\nSupport administrative projects related to logistics operations.\n\nSafety & Risk Awareness\nPromote adherence to company safety procedures.\n\nEscalate accidents, incidents, hazardous situations, or other safety concerns immediately.\n\nCoordinate with appropriate personnel regarding transportation incidents.\n\nSupport operational procedures designed to reduce service and safety risks.\n\nDo not independently make technical or regulatory determinations outside the manager's authority.\n\nQualifications\nRequired\nHigh school diploma or equivalent.\n\n3-5 years of experience in logistics, transportation, dispatch, supply chain, fleet operations, or a related field.\n\nAt least 1-2 years of supervisory or management experience preferred.\n\nStrong leadership and communication skills.\n\nExcellent organizational and time-management abilities.\n\nStrong problem-solving and decision-making skills.\n\nAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.\n\nProficiency with Microsoft Office, Excel, Google Workspace, and operational software.\n\nStrong understanding of transportation and logistics workflows.\n\nPreferred\nAssociate's or Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.\n\nExperience with freight brokerage, trucking, third-party logistics, distribution, or transportation operations.\n\nFamiliarity with transportation-management systems (TMS).\n\nExperience with dispatch and fleet-management software.\n\nExperience monitoring operational
