Senior Product Designer

Description

We’re looking for a Senior Product Designer who thinks deeply, moves quickly, and cares about the details. Someone who can untangle complex problems, think in behaviors and end-to-end experiences, and bring a high level of visual and interaction craft to their work.

We want designers who are curious, opinionated, and willing to try the thing. You explore, prototype, test, and learn rather than waiting for perfect information. You challenge the obvious, communicate your thinking clearly, and have the judgement to say when something isn’t working or when there’s a better way.

You’ll collaborate closely with people across Mamo, so how you work matters just as much as what you make. We expect openness, thoughtful feedback, and compassion for the customers and teammates you’re designing with.

Most importantly, we’re looking for someone who takes ownership, stays curious, and is excited by the messy, difficult problems that come with building ambitious products.

What you will do

• Own product work end to end. Partner with product and engineering from problem definition through exploration, validation, delivery, launch, and iteration. Stay involved through implementation and QA, not just handoff.
• Turn ambiguity into clear product direction. Break complex problems down, identify assumptions, surface risks and edge cases, and communicate the rationale, trade-offs, and intended outcome clearly with your team.
• Think in flows, behaviors, and systems. Design complete journeys rather than isolated screens. Consider states, transitions, permissions, dependencies, errors, empty states, content, and how each experience fits into the broader product.
• Explore and prototype broadly. Sketch, map flows, write, prototype, and test different approaches before converging. Use Figma, code, or AI-assisted tools when they help you learn faster and push an idea further.
• Produce a high level of visual and interaction craft. Create thoughtful, polished interfaces with strong hierarchy, composition, typography, interaction patterns, and attention to detail.
• Validate assumptions directly with customers. Run lightweight interviews, usability tests, and prototype reviews to make better decisions quickly and adjust direction when needed.
• Raise the quality bar. Give thoughtful critique, share patterns and learnings, strengthen our design system, and contribute to how the design team works.

What you need

• 7+ years of experience designing digital products, with experience working on complex or systems-heavy products. B2B, fintech, SaaS, or operational products are a plus.
• A track record of owning meaningful product work from problem definition through launch and iteration.
• Strong independent product judgment. You can reason through a problem yourself, challenge assumptions, ask good questions, and develop a point of view rather than waiting for a PM, an existing pattern, or an AI tool to provide the answer.
• Strong interaction design skills. You think carefully about how a product behaves, not just what it looks like, and can design clear flows across multiple states, scenarios, and user types.
• Strong visual craft. Your work demonstrates excellent hierarchy, layout, typography, component usage, and attention to detail.
• Strong written communication. You can write clear product copy, explain your thinking, document decisions, and communicate complex ideas simply.
• Experience planning and running customer interviews or usability tests independently.
• The ability to sketch, diagram, prototype, and explore ideas quickly without needing polished tools or AI-generated output to begin thinking.
• A portfolio that demonstrates product thinking, interaction design, visual quality, and end-to-end ownership. We’re especially interested in understanding how you arrived at the work, not just seeing the final screens.
• Comfort working closely with PMs and engineers, including discussing feasibility, trade-offs, scope, and success measures.
• Experience working with design systems while knowing when an existing pattern should be reused, extended, or reconsidered.
• Fluency with modern AI tools and an understanding of where they add value and where human judgment matters more. We expect designers to use AI thoughtfully, not depend on it.

Nice to have

• Experience designing financial products, complex B2B workflows, permissions, approvals, reporting, or other systems with many interconnected states.
• Familiarity with tools beyond Figma, such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, Premiere Pro, or similar tools for image editing, illustration, motion, and video.
• Experience prototyping with code or AI-assisted development tools such as Cursor or Claude Code.
• Experience contributing to or evolving a design system.
• Experience working in fast-moving product teams where designers are expected to make decisions, iterate quickly, and ship regularly.
