{"id":1135127,"url":"https://alion.io/job/management-sciences-for-health-m-e-officer-2","title":"M & E Officer","company":{"id":1044668,"name":"Management Sciences for Health","domain":"msh.org","url":"https://alion.io/company/management-sciences-for-health","size_band":"201-500","is_staffing_agency":false,"is_intermediary":false,"ats_vendor":"Workday","truth_index":null},"role":"Field & Service","role_family":"Field & Service","seniority":"middle","employment_type":"full_time","work_mode":"on_site","remote_scope":null,"hiring_geo_confidence":"structured","locations":["Katsina, Nigeria"],"countries":["NG"],"hiring_countries":[],"hiring_countries_total":0,"salary":null,"salary_estimate":{"min_usd":37000,"max_usd":84000,"period":"year","method":"global_role_cell_scaled_by_country","sample_n":1874},"experience_years_min":4,"visa_sponsorship":false,"relocation_package":false,"has_equity":false,"technologies":[{"name":"SPSS","optional":false},{"name":"Stata","optional":false}],"status":"live","first_seen_at":"2026-09-15T00:00:00Z","employer_posted_date":"2026-09-15","last_verified_at":"2026-09-23T17:43:41Z","board_verified":true,"closed_at":null,"days_open":8,"trust":{"level":"ok","repost_count":null,"flags":[],"days_open":8},"description":"Overview\nThe objective of the M&E Officer position is to support data quality management, including data collection, quality checks, and reporting at the state, LGA and community levels as applicable.\nResponsibilities\nSupport the M&E Manager in the implementation of M&E activities, including data collection, data quality checks, and reporting.\n\nProvide support and build capacity of LGA and health facility M&E officers in data quality management\n\nParticipate and provide technical support in monthly LGA data validation meetings.\n\nConduct routine data quality assessments at health facilities in conjunction with LGA M&E officers\n\nSupport conduct of quarterly DQA exercise in primary and secondary health facilities across the state.\n\nReview health facility data monthly to identify and address data quality issues prior to reporting.\n\nDocument data quality issues and share with the M&E team and health facilities for necessary corrections.\n\nDevelop follow up action plans and ensure that all identified data quality issues are resolved by the LGA M&E officers and HFs at the end of each reporting month\n\nWhere relevant, work with MERL Manager to ensure data are collated, analyzed, presented at review meetings.\n\nRepresent the programme in technical fora, such as M&E Sub-committee meetings.\n\nAny other task assigned.\n\nQUALIFICATIONS\nQualifications\nB.Sc. in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science or closely related discipline with a minimum of 4 years relevant experience.\n\nA post-graduate degree in a related Medical Statistics and Epidemiology discipline is an added advantage.\n\nDeep understanding and knowledge of M&E systems in Nigeria and/or comparable country contexts.\n\nFamiliarity with data validation tools\n\nExcellent knowledge of use of DHIS2\n\nExcellent computer skills, including in Excel and in at least one statistical software package, preferably Stata, alternatively SPSS or R; knowledge of other data software an advantage, such as mapping software\n\nDemonstrated experience in managing program data, with a record of achieving programme objectives\n\nDeep understanding and knowledge of health systems’ dynamics and challenges in data management\n\nExcellent spoken and written English\n\nExcellent report writing skills\n\nAbility to work under pressure, flexible and open to extra working hours, if necessary.\n\nVery good negotiation and communication skills and ability to express views and ideas\n\nMSH is an equal opportunity employer.
