The objective is to enable self-service, not to become the sole report builder.\n\nHelp non-technical team members understand how to use Metabase, interpret data models, and formulate the right questions.\n\nAssist with complex reporting needs that go beyond what team members can build independently.\n\nImprove data literacy across the organization by establishing documentation, training sessions, and accessible data models.\n\nMarketing Data Engineering.\n\nConnect marketing performance tools (Supermetrics or equivalent) with the data warehouse to enable unified marketing analytics.\n\nBuild pipelines that consolidate data from paid acquisition channels, attribution tools, and campaign platforms into a single source of truth.\n\nSupport the marketing team in measuring campaign performance, attribution, and ROI through reliable, automated data flows.\n\nPlatform Cost & Optimization.\n\nMonitor and optimize the cost of the data platform, with a focus on Redshift compute and storage efficiency.\n\nEvaluate and recommend architectural changes (reserved instances, workload management, data lifecycle policies) to keep costs under control as data volumes grow.\n\nTrack platform costs and report to leadership on trends and optimization opportunities.\n\nData Roadmap & Strategy.\n\nOwn the data roadmap for internal tooling, spanning Metabase, Retool data integrations, and marketing data infrastructure.\n\nWork closely with Product Analysts, Marketing Analysts, Sales Analysts, and Finance Analysts to understand their needs and prioritize data initiatives accordingly.\n\nEvaluate new tools and technologies as the data function matures, and make recommendations grounded in the organization's actual needs and scale.\n\n5+ years of experience in data engineering, analytics engineering, or a combined data role at a technology company.\n\nStrong proficiency in SQL. You will write complex queries, optimize slow reports, and design data models daily.\n\nHands-on experience managing a data warehouse in production, preferably AWS Redshift. You should be comfortable with schema design, query performance tuning, WLM configuration, and cost optimization.\n\nExperience building and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines. Hands-on experience with Airbyte, Segment, or similar ingestion tools is strongly preferred.\n\nProficiency in Python for data pipeline development, scripting, and automation.\n\nExperience with BI tools (Metabase, Looker, Tableau, or equivalent). You will own the BI platform and build core dashboards, not just consume them.\n\nDemonstrated ability to coach and enable non-technical stakeholders to use data tools and build their own reports. This is a core part of the role, not a secondary responsibility.\n\nExperience integrating data from multiple business systems (CRM, marketing platforms, payment systems, product databases) into a unified data model.\n\nStrong communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
