This position will direct and coordinate with MANCON store supervisors with the purchasing, selling, and transferring of inventory to reduce overall inventory levels. The Inventory Specialist will work with the MANCON management team to identify vendor sources, establish purchasing terms, and evaluate vendor performance.\nThe compensation range for this position is $16.00 to $26.66 $ per hour. Placement within this range will be based on a combination of relevant experience, certifications, and/or demonstrated skills that align with the role requirements.\nResponsibilities\nManage vendor base and purchasing agreements to provide network of suppliers to support our MaineDOT customers with products for the best combination of price, quality, availability, and service.\nAnalyze inventory levels and usage to reduce inventory and pricing and maximize availability and quality.\nResearch and identify obsolete/inactive inventory and coordinate return to the vendor or transfer to MANCON locations.\nAssist MANCON management team with vendor purchase agreements.\nWork with MaineDOT satellite locations to return and transfer inactive inventory.\nAssist in performing weekly inventory cycle counts\nAssist in performing counts during wall-to-wall inventories\nReview, familiarize with, and adhere to MANCON’s Policy, Procedures and Safety Manual.\nMay occasionally, drive MANCON vehicle to designated locations to assist with inventory, customer returns, and vendor returns\nOther Requirements\nProvide 24-hour support at the MaineDOT location during emergencies\nAssist with inventory research projects as requested\nParticipate in the SCM continuing training program\nAssist with other duties as assigned\nQualifications\n2 years inventory experience\n1 year purchasing experience or similar\nMicrosoft Excel experience\nExperience with inventory software systems\nCommunication and interpersonal skills\nAnalytical thinking and problem-solving skills\nTeam player with organizational skills\nSelf-motivated individual able to work with limited direct supervision\nValid Driver’s License\nPreferred Qualifications\nAuto and/or heavy-duty truck parts experience\nObtain and maintain a forklift certificate\nPhysical Requirements\nMedium work - Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.Essential Requirements\nDriving, Lifting, Reaching, Shoveling, Sitting, Standing, Stooping, WalkingPhysical Requirements Other\nWork is mostly performed in storerooms and warehouses which may have uncontrolled temperatures and dirt/dust/damp conditions.
