The Residences at Mandarin Oriental Downtown, Dubai are set to open by 2027.\nAbout the job\nBased at the Mandarin Oriental Downtown, Dubai within the Yù & Mì Kitchen section in Dubai, the Commis is responsible for assisting in the preparation and presentation of high-quality dishes, following recipes and guidelines set by senior chefs. They ensure consistency, cleanliness, and proper handling of ingredients while supporting daily kitchen operations. Maintaining high standards of hygiene, food safety, and teamwork is essential in this role. The Commis reports to Chef de Partie.\nAs a Commis, you will be responsible for the following duties:\n· Assist in the preparation and presentation of high-quality dishes in accordance with hotel standards.\n· Follow recipes, portion controls, and presentation specifications as set by senior chefs.\n· Maintain cleanliness and organization of the workstation and kitchen equipment at all times.\n· Support mise en place and daily kitchen operations, ensuring timely delivery during service periods.\n· Cooperate effectively with other kitchen sections to ensure smooth workflow and service excellence.\n· Uphold and comply with all health, food safety, and hygiene standards in line with hotel policies, HACCP requirements, including those mandated by UAE Municipality.\nAs a Commis, we expect from you:\n· High School qualification or equivalent is required.\n· A Degree or Higher National Diploma in Hospitality or Culinary Arts is preferred.\n· Minimum of 1 year of culinary experience as a Commis in a high-volume hotel or restaurant is preferred.\n· Basic skills in food handling, preparation, and kitchen operations.\n· Familiarity with basic food hygiene and safety standards is an advantage.\n· Passion for bakery and willingness to learn and grow within the culinary team.\nOur commitment to you\n· Learning & Development.
