As a key member of the pre-opening team, this role will establish credit procedures, systems, and internal controls in line with Mandarin Oriental policies and luxury hospitality best practices.\nThe Credit Manager works closely with Sales, Front Office, and Finance to balance commercial flexibility with prudent financial risk management.\nAs Credit Manager, you will be responsible for the following duties:\nCredit Policy & Risk Management\nEstablish and implement credit policies and procedures during the pre-opening phase, aligned with Mandarin Oriental brand standards.\nReview, evaluate, and approve credit applications for corporate, group, and travel trade accounts, ensuring appropriate credit limits.\nAssess financial statements, bank references, and credit histories to determine risk exposure.\nMonitor credit limits and account aging to proactively manage potential bad debts.\nAccounts Receivable & Collections\nOversee the accounts receivable function, ensuring timely invoicing and collection of outstanding balances.\nMonitor aging reports and follow up on overdue accounts through structured collection efforts.\nCoordinate with Sales and Operations to resolve billing disputes and collection issues while maintaining strong client relationships.\nRecommend provisions for doubtful accounts in accordance with company policy and accounting standards.\nCustomer Account Management\nMaintain accurate customer master data and credit files.\nConduct periodic reviews of approved credit facilities.\nEnsure all credit documentation is properly maintained and updated.\nPre-Opening & Systems Setup\nSupport the pre-opening setup of financial systems related to credit and accounts receivable.\nParticipate in the development of SOPs, internal controls, and documentation required for audit and compliance.\nAssist in training operational and finance teams on credit procedures and billing processes.\nReporting & Compliance\nPrepare regular credit and AR reports for the Director of Finance and hotel leadership.\nEnsure compliance with internal audit requirements, financial policies, and statutory regulations.\nCoordinate with external auditors as required.\nAs Credit Manager, we expect from you:\nBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.\nMinimum 5-7 years of experience in credit management or accounts receivable, preferably within a hotel or hospitality environment.\nExperience in pre-opening hotels or luxury hospitality is an advantage.\nStrong knowledge of credit risk assessment, financial analysis, and collections practices.\nHigh attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and sound judgment.\nAbility to balance financial discipline with commercial awareness.\nExcellent communication and relationship-management skills.\nProficient in financial systems and Microsoft Office applications.\nOur commitment to you\nLearning & Development.
