To implement accounting procedures and policies. To ensure that the General Ledger is properly maintained and has all the supported documents. Ensure the financial reporting requirements are completed in accordance with Mandarin Oriental, Desaru Coast’s standards of quality and performance.\nAs Finance Manager you will be responsible for the following duties:\nUtilizes interpersonal and communication skills to lead, influence, and encourage others, advocates sound financial / business decision making, demonstrates honesty and integrity\nOversee internal, external and regulatory audit processes\nEnsures that regular ongoing communication occurs with associates to create awareness of business objectives, communicate expectations, and recognize performance\nGenerates and provides accurate and timely results in the form of reports, presentations, etc.\nEnsure tax rates used for sales are current and proper amounts are collected and correct\nLeverages centralized accounting processes and shared services\nAdvises the Director of Finance on existing and evolving operating and financial issues\nCommunicates financial concepts in a clear and persuasive manner that is easy to understand and drives desired behaviours\nProvide direction and assistance to other organizational units regarding accounting and budgeting policies and procedures, and efficient control and utilization of financial resources\nOversee day-to-day operations of accounting department including payroll, receiving and stores.\nAssist in the preparation of financial operating statements and reports in accordance with Global Policy and Procedures\nMaintain system of accounts and controls, providing accurate data necessary for all required accounting reports and statements\nPrepare and post journal entries, ensuring efficient completion of all month-end functions\nMonitor, supervise and prepare month-end balance sheet account reconciliation and analysis\nParticipate in the creation of Annual Operating & Capital Budgets, Strategic Plan, and Monthly Operating Forecast\nCoordinate and ensure that all daily, semi-monthly and monthly management reports are issued on a timely basis and are accurate\nOversee and verify the accuracy of monthly and annual physical inventories and valuations thereof in accordance with Global Policy and Procedures\nAdminister financial component of concession leases, ensuring accurate monthly and annual reporting reconciliation of all rents due to hotel operations and Global office\nAssist in the effective utilization and integration of hotel and accounting technology system, including software applications, current and future\nParticipate and contribute to weekly yield management of hotel operations.\nActively contributes to hotel overall leadership and direction\nMaintain system of accounts and controls, providing accurate data necessary for all required accounting reports and statements.\nComplete financial statements, management reports in accordance with Global Policies & Procedures for review.\nAssist departments in the interpretation, orientation, training and analysis of accounting matters\nCo-ordinate and ensure that all daily, semi-monthly and monthly management reports are issued on a timely and accurate basis\nDevelop an engaged, enthusiastic and guest driven department\nRecruit, develop, evaluate and motivate the team\nRepresent the accounting office and the Director of Finance in his absence\nAssist subordinates Level TS1 and below with their duties as needed.\nPerform other projects, reports as needed and assigned.\nEnsure a good relationship is maintained with all the departments.\nPerforms other department-oriented duties as instructed by Director of Finance.\nAssist the Director of Finance and other operational departments in any other administrative duties as needed.\nPerform other special projects assigned by the Director of Finance and Corporate Finance.\nAudit maintenance of payroll records.\nAs Finance Manager, we expect from you:\nEducational Background\nBachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.\nProfessional accounting qualification such as ACCA, CPA, CIMA, or equivalent would be an advantage.\nMinimum 5-7 years of relevant experience in Finance or Accounting, preferably within the hospitality industry.\nPrevious supervisory or management experience in a hotel or resort environment is preferred.\nStrong knowledge of hotel accounting and financial control procedures.\nExperience with budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and month-end closing.\nSkills\nStrong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.\nGood understanding of Malaysian statutory and taxation requirements.\nProficient in Microsoft Excel and financial/accounting systems.\nExperience with hotel finance systems and SCM Check, Sun System would be an advantage.
