Nestled between rainforest and sea, each suite and villa is a study in quiet luxury, thoughtfully framed by nature and attuned to the rhythm of the land.\nAbout the job\nThe Host / Hostess is the first point of contact for guests entering the restaurant or outlet and is responsible for creating a warm, welcoming, and personalized arrival experience. The role manages guest seating, reservations, table allocation, and communication with the service team to ensure a smooth and memorable dining experience in accordance with the hotel's luxury service standards.\nAs Host / Hostess you will be responsible for the following duties:\nGuest Welcome & Service\nWelcome and acknowledge all guests warmly, professionally, and promptly upon arrival.\nCreate a positive first impression by demonstrating genuine hospitality and attentive service.\nEscort guests to their tables and assist with seating arrangements.\nProvide menus and communicate relevant information regarding the outlet, daily specials, promotions, and facilities.\nIdentify and respond to guest preferences and special requests whenever possible.\nMaintain awareness of VIP guests, repeat guests, special occasions, and guest preferences.\nHandle guest enquiries, requests, and feedback professionally and escalate concerns to the appropriate supervisor when required.\nBid farewell to guests warmly and thank them for dining with the hotel.\nReservations & Table Management\nManage restaurant reservations accurately using the hotel's reservation system.\nConfirm, amend, and update guest reservations as required.\nMaintain an accurate seating plan and manage table allocation according to operational requirements.\nMonitor table availability and coordinate seating with the service team.\nManage walk-in guests and waiting lists professionally.\nCommunicate expected waiting times accurately to guests.\nCoordinate with the Restaurant Manager and service team regarding table status, guest flow, and special requirements.\nEnsure reservations and guest information are handled with appropriate confidentiality.\nCommunication & Coordination\nMaintain effective communication with waitstaff, Restaurant Manager, Kitchen, and other F&B departments.\nInform the service team of guest preferences, special occasions, dietary requirements, and other relevant information.\nCoordinate with the Kitchen and service team to manage guest flow during peak periods.\nCommunicate operational updates and guest requests during daily briefings.\nAssist the team in maintaining smooth restaurant operations during busy periods.\nGuest Experience & Brand Standards\nDeliver service in accordance with Mandarin Oriental's luxury service standards and the hotel's service philosophy.\nDemonstrate excellent knowledge of the restaurant's menu, concept, opening hours, facilities, and current promotions.\nRecognize returning guests and provide personalized service whenever possible.\nMaintain a professional and polished appearance in accordance with grooming standards.\nProtect guest privacy and handle guest information with discretion.\nProactively identify opportunities to enhance the guest experience.\nOperational Duties\nMaintain cleanliness, organization, and presentation of the host/hostess station, entrance, and waiting area.\nEnsure menus, reservation materials, and guest information are properly maintained and available.\nAssist with setting up and closing the outlet as required.\nMonitor guest traffic and support the team in managing peak periods.\nAssist other F&B areas when operationally required.\nFollow all hotel policies, SOPs, food safety, hygiene, and health and safety requirements.\nReport any maintenance, safety, or operational concerns to the supervisor promptly.\nAs Host / Hostess,we expect from you:\nEducational Background\nMinimum 1-2 years of experience in a Host/Hostess, Guest Relations, Restaurant Reception, or similar F&B role, preferably in a luxury hotel or resort.\nPrevious experience in a high-end restaurant or international hotel is an advantage.\nDiploma or certificate in Hospitality, Food & Beverage, or a related field is preferred.\nSkills\nGood command of English; additional languages are an advantage.\nExcellent communication and interpersonal skills.\nPleasant personality with a genuine passion for guest service.\nWell-groomed, confident, and professional in appearance.\nStrong organizational and multitasking abilities.\nComfortable working in a fast-paced environment.\nWilling to work shifts, weekends, public holidays, and according to operational requirements.\nOur commitment to you\nLearning & Development.
