Guests will enjoy an unparalleled alpine experience throughout the year, including skiing, hiking, mountain biking, climbing and wellness retreats, establishing the resort as one of Europe's most prestigious mountain destinations.\nRole Summary\nAs a Maintenance Technician at Mandarin Oriental Cristallo, Cortina, you will play a key role in ensuring the resort operates safely, efficiently and to the exceptional standards expected of the Mandarin Oriental brand. Reporting to the Assistant Director of Engineering, you will be responsible for carrying out preventive and corrective maintenance across the hotel, ensuring that all engineering systems, guest areas, back-of-house facilities and equipment remain in excellent condition. During the pre-opening phase, you will actively support the installation, testing and commissioning of the property's technical systems, contributing to a successful and seamless opening.\nKey Responsibilities\nPre-Opening Responsibilities\nParticipate in the installation, inspection, testing and commissioning of building systems and engineering equipment.\nSupport the Engineering team during the handover process from contractors, identifying and reporting any defects or outstanding works.\nAssist in setting up preventive maintenance schedules, maintenance procedures and engineering documentation.\nBecome familiar with all hotel plant rooms, mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems.\nSupport the installation and testing of guest room equipment, public area systems and back-of-house facilities.\nAssist in preparing workshops, maintenance stores and spare parts inventory.\nParticipate in engineering training programmes and pre-opening operational readiness activities.\nEnsure all work is completed in accordance with health, safety and environmental regulations.\nOperational Responsibilities\nPerform preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical, electrical, plumbing and general building systems.\nRespond promptly to maintenance requests from guest rooms, public areas and back-of-house departments.\nInspect equipment regularly to identify maintenance requirements before failures occur.\nTroubleshoot technical issues and perform repairs efficiently while minimising operational disruption.\nMaintain HVAC, lighting, plumbing, fire safety and other building systems according to established standards.\nEnsure all engineering works comply with local regulations, safety requirements and Mandarin Oriental operating procedures.\nAccurately complete maintenance records, work orders and preventive maintenance documentation using the hotel's maintenance management system.\nAssist external contractors during maintenance activities and ensure work is completed according to agreed specifications.\nMaintain engineering workshops, tools and equipment in a clean, safe and organised condition.\nSupport energy conservation initiatives and identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency.\nParticipate in the emergency response team and assist during technical emergencies or unforeseen operational issues.\nProvide courteous and professional service to both guests and colleagues while maintaining the highest standards of safety and workmanship.\nQualifications & Experience\nThe ideal candidate will possess:\nTechnical qualification or diploma in Electrical, Mechanical, HVAC, Plumbing or Building Maintenance.\nMinimum 2 years of experience in hotel engineering, facility maintenance or a similar technical environment; experience in luxury hospitality is preferred.\nPrevious pre-opening experience is considered an advantage.\nGood knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC and general building maintenance systems.\nAbility to troubleshoot technical problems independently and efficiently.\nBasic knowledge of Building Management Systems (BMS) is considered an advantage.\nKnowledge of health, safety and environmental regulations relevant to engineering operations.\nStrong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.\nPositive attitude, flexibility and willingness to work shifts, weekends and public holidays when required.\nTeam-oriented mindset with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.\nFluency in Italian is essential; basic English is preferred.\nOur Commitment to You\nLearning & Development\nYour success is our success.
