Celebrate the essence of Mallorca through bespoke experiences, dynamic culinary journeys, and rejuvenating wellness - each designed to immerse you in the island’s vibrant atmosphere and extraordinary offerings.\nAbout the job\nBased at Mandarin Oriental Punta Negra, Mallorca, as Pastry Cook you will be responsible for overseeing all day-to-day operations of the pastry and bakery section, including the preparation of cakes, cookies, pies, and bread, following both traditional and modern recipes.\nAs Pastry Cook, you will be responsible for the following duties:\nDevelop and innovate new desserts to enhance the hotel’s menu and engage guests. \nDecorate pastries with various icings and techniques to ensure visually appealing presentations. \nManage inventory: monitor stock levels and order ingredients and supplies for the pastry section. \nEnsure full compliance with health, hygiene, and safety regulations within the pastry area. \nCollaborate closely with the Executive Chef and other kitchen staff to maintain product quality and consistency. \nTrain and mentor pastry team members, fostering skill development and high performance. \nMaintain kitchen equipment and workstations to ensure efficiency and cleanliness. \nContribute to menu planning and seasonal offerings, bringing creativity and innovation to the culinary experience. \nAs Pastry Cook, we expect from you:\nExperience and education\nCulinary school or university degree in a related field. \nMinimum of 2-3 years of experience in the luxury hospitality industry. \nTechnical Skills\nBaking Techniques: Mastery of fundamental baking methods. \nFlavor Development: Creating innovative and balanced flavor combinations. \nPatisserie Expertise: Skilled in preparing a variety of pastries, desserts, breads, and baked goods. \nChocolate & Sugar Artistry: Crafting intricate designs with chocolate and sugar. \nFood Safety (HACCP): Ensuring a clean, sanitary workspace and compliance with food safety standards. \nMenu Development: Collaborating with chefs to design and update menus. \nDessert Plating: Presenting desserts in a visually appealing and elegant manner. \nOur commitment to you\nLearning & Development.
