you an experienced Electrical or Electronics Engineer looking to work on highly complex defence programmes at the forefront of military technology?\nWe are currently recruiting for multiple Lead Electrical Engineers to join a leading defence organisation in Ampthill, supporting the design, development and integration of advanced electrical and electronic systems across UK classified programmes.\nThis is an excellent opportunity to work on cutting-edge defence technologies whilst benefiting from a flexible four-day working week and exposure to the full product development lifecycle.\nThe Role\nReporting to the Design Team Lead, you will take ownership of the design, development and support of mixed electrical and electronic Line Replaceable Unit (LRU) solutions from concept through to delivery, following a structured phase-gate development process.\nKey responsibilities include:\nLeading the design and development of electrical and electronic hardware solutions.\nSupporting the full product development lifecycle from concept through to manufacture and integration.\nProviding technical guidance and governance across design and integration activities.\nDefining engineering processes, specifications and procedures to support hardware design and manufacture.\nConducting technical reviews of supplier capabilities and supporting source selection activities.\nDeveloping functional and physical design requirements to ensure integrated design architectures.\nDesigning analogue and digital electronic circuitry, including microprocessor and FPGA-based solutions.\nProducing schematic designs and supporting PCB layouts.\nPerforming circuit analysis, simulation, testing and evaluation activities.\nSupporting assembly, integration and qualification testing activities.\nProducing technical documentation including requirements specifications, compliance evidence, test documentation and trade studies.\nCollaborating with multidisciplinary engineering teams and stakeholders to deliver programme objectives.\nEssential Skills & Experience\nFormal Electronics qualification (HNC, HND or Bachelor's Degree in Electronics or a relevant engineering discipline).\nProven experience in Electronics Hardware Design and Product Development.\nStrong background in analogue and digital electronics design.\nExperience using Windchill or other Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) tools.\nProven experience with schematic capture and PCB layout using Altium Designer.\nKnowledge of IPC standards and best practices.\nEMC awareness at both product and PCB level.\nExperience supporting Assembly, Integration and Test activities.\nAbility to produce high-quality technical documentation.\nExcellent communication and stakeholder management skills.\nStrong organisational and problem-solving abilities.\nSelf-motivated with the ability to manage multiple priorities.\nDesirable Skills & Experience\nExperience using DOORS for requirements capture and management.\nHardware qualification and verification experience.\nPreparation of Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) documentation.\nAwareness of IEC 61508 functional safety standards.\nExperience working with 28V power distribution systems.\nPrevious experience within the defence, aerospace or highly regulated engineering sectors.\nSecurity Clearance\nCandidates must be eligible to obtain Security Clearance (SC).\nBPSS clearance is required to commence employment.\nWorking Arrangements\nMandatory on-site attendance in Ampthill every
