Working closely with clients, design teams, commercial departments, subcontractors and site personnel, you will ensure projects are delivered safely, on programme, within budget and to the required quality standards.\nThis role would suit a commercially aware Mechanical Project Manager with a strong background in HVAC, mechanical piping and building services. Experience delivering pharmaceutical, life sciences, data centre or other technically complex projects would be particularly beneficial.\nKey Responsibilities\nProject Planning and Management\nLead project handovers from the estimating team to the construction and delivery teams.\n\nDevelop project execution plans, construction programmes, procurement schedules, resource plans and cost control procedures.\n\nEstablish project budgets, cash flow forecasts, revenue targets and commercial reporting processes.\n\nCoordinate the mobilisation of site teams, subcontractors, labour, materials and site facilities.\n\nWork closely with engineering and design teams to resolve technical issues and ensure project requirements are met.\n\nDevelop project-specific health and safety plans, quality plans and training requirements.\n\nConstruction and Site Delivery\nManage the day-to-day delivery of mechanical construction activities, including HVAC, mechanical piping and building services installations.\n\nLead and coordinate engineers, supervisors, subcontractors and specialist trades.\n\nEnsure works are completed in accordance with approved drawings, technical specifications, contractual requirements and agreed programmes.\n\nMonitor labour productivity, resource utilisation, material deliveries and construction progress.\n\nIdentify and resolve technical challenges, programme risks and potential delays.\n\nMaintain high standards of health and safety, environmental compliance and quality throughout the project.\n\nChair regular progress meetings with clients, subcontractors and internal project teams.\n\nProvide regular project updates and performance reports to senior management.\n\nCommercial and Client Management\nAct as the primary point of contact for clients throughout the project lifecycle.\n\nBuild and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, suppliers and subcontractors.\n\nMonitor project costs, revenue, cash flow and commercial performance against agreed targets.\n\nWork with Quantity Surveyors and commercial teams to manage valuations, variations, forecasts and final accounts.\n\nIdentify commercial risks and opportunities to protect project margins.\n\nMaintain accurate project records, site diaries and contractual documentation.\n\nEnsure changes to project scope and additional works are appropriately documented and managed.\n\nTesting, Commissioning and Handover\nOversee pre-commissioning, testing and commissioning activities in accordance with project specifications and quality plans.\n\nCoordinate system completion, inspections, technical documentation and turnover activities.\n\nEnsure testing records, certificates and quality documentation are completed accurately and on time.\n\nManage the preparation and handover of operation and maintenance manuals, as-built drawings and final project documentation.\n\nCoordinate client demonstrations, final inspections and formal handover.\n\nManage project demobilisation and prepare project close-out reports.\n\nMaintain client relationships during warranty periods and support the resolution of outstanding issues.\n\nRequirements\nA degree or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or a related discipline.
