exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Mechanical Technician to join a leading aerospace and defence programme supporting the maintenance of Chinook helicopters at Middle Wallop. \nThis is a long-term contract offering an excellent hourly rate, a retention bonus and the opportunity to work on one of the UK's most critical rotary-wing platforms. \nYou will support scheduled and unscheduled mechanical maintenance on Chinook helicopters undergoing Primary and Primary Star maintenance, working to the required military and Boeing maintenance standards.\nThe Role\nAs a Mechanical Technician, you will be responsible for carrying out aircraft mechanical maintenance, inspections, fault diagnosis and rectification to ensure aircraft systems remain safe, serviceable and compliant with the relevant maintenance requirements.\nKey Responsibilities\nCarry out scheduled and unscheduled mechanical maintenance on Chinook helicopters.\nSupport Primary and Primary Star maintenance activities.\nInspect, remove, replace and functionally test aircraft mechanical components and systems.\nDiagnose faults and undertake rectification work in accordance with approved maintenance data.\nWork in line with applicable military maintenance procedures, QR640 requirements and Boeing Part 145 processes.\nComplete aircraft maintenance documentation accurately and in accordance with the relevant procedures.\nEnsure all work meets required safety, quality and airworthiness standards.\nWork collaboratively with other technicians, engineers and maintenance personnel to meet programme and delivery requirements.\nMaintain a clean, safe and compliant working environment.\nRequirements\nThe successful candidate will ideally have:\nProven experience as an Aircraft Mechanical Technician, preferably within a rotary-wing environment.\nExperience working on helicopter mechanical systems and components.\nThe ability to carry out aircraft inspections, component replacement, fault diagnosis and functional testing.\nAn understanding of military aircraft maintenance procedures and airworthiness requirements.\nFamiliarity with QR640 and/or Boeing Part 145 maintenance environments.\nThe ability to accurately complete technical records and maintenance documentation.\nA strong commitment to safety, quality and procedural compliance.\nThe ability to work effectively within a maintenance team and support operational deadlines.\nCurrent SC security clearance, or the ability to transfer existing clearance, with clearance required from day one.\n\nWhat's on
