As part of a European transmission network environment, the company plays a critical role in ensuring the reliability and sustainability of electricity supply across Belgium. \nAs part of the project team, you will work alongside other contingent workers and company employees to develop sustainable, reliable and future-focused energy infrastructure that supports economic growth while reducing our environmental footprint. \nWe believe in the power of diversity and are convinced that an inclusive and diverse working environment leads to greater innovation, creativity and better results.\nService Description\nThe Project Engineer - Substations will contribute to electrical infrastructure projects involving high-voltage substations and lines across 380, 220, 150, 70 and 36 kV networks. \nAs Project Engineer, you will act as a key link between the Project Leader and the engineering organisation, taking responsibility for the technical development of projects within a multidisciplinary team. You will ensure the consistency and quality of the design while monitoring the functionality of the project and taking proactive measures to ensure delivery within the agreed schedule and scope. \nYour responsibilities will include:\nWorking closely with the Project Leader and fellow Project Engineers. The Project Engineer has a primarily technical focus, while the Project Leader has an organisational focus within the project.\nBeing actively involved throughout the entire project lifecycle, from feasibility and conceptual studies through to project completion.\nActing as a key link between the design team, technical experts and Project Leader.\nContributing to the technical development of the project scope and design, including carrying out various preliminary technical studies.\nTaking a leading role within the engineering team, ensuring the effective integration of different disciplines into a coherent technical solution.\nManaging interfaces between the different technical disciplines.\nMonitoring the engineering schedule and coordinating it with the Project Leader.\nSupporting and guiding the design team during the detailed design phase, ensuring studies are delivered to the required quality and agreed scope.\nProviding technical support to the Project Leader during the execution phase.\nCommunicating and reporting on project progress.\nProject Engineering Disciplines\nWithin the Engineering department, there are several Project Engineering disciplines, each with its own technical specialism:\nPE Substation\nThe focus of this role is on HV components within substations, utilities and building equipment, as well as the distribution of low-voltage power supplies, including 400 VAC and 110 VDC systems.\nPE PAC\nFocuses on protection and automation systems.\nPE Lines\nFocuses on high-voltage lines and pylons connecting substations.\nPE Civil Works\nFocuses on civil engineering and construction works. \nThe PE Substation function is responsible for integrating these different disciplines, systems and processes within a project. \nWe are therefore looking for someone with:\nStrong analytical and conceptual thinking skills, with the ability to understand complex problems and develop solutions in accordance with applicable standards and regulations.\nThe ability to consider multiple factors including safety, constructability, maintainability and operational requirements.\nSufficient maturity and confidence to lead coordination meetings between different technical disciplines and act as the Engineering department's point of contact for internal stakeholders.\nDepending on experience, these responsibilities may be performed independently or with appropriate guidance and support. The company provides an extensive training and development programme.\nThe Project Engineer - Substation will work within the Infrastructure Projects department. \nFollowing the initial training period, the role can be performed remotely up to three days per week. \nProjects and associated sites are divided into four geographical regions: Northeast, Northwest, Southeast and Southwest. The role can therefore be organised effectively between project sites, which will need to be visited during the preparation and construction phases, the company's office in Schaerbeek, and home working. \nThis position covers projects within the Northeast region.\nAdditional Requirements\nMaster's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electromechanical Engineering or equivalent experience, combined with a strong technical interest.\nTechnical experience within the high-voltage sector is advantageous.\nExcellent knowledge of Dutch is essential, as this will be the working language for the projects.\nInterest in the energy sector.\nStrong sense of responsibility and excellent organisational skills.\nStrong communication skills, with confident and customer-focused communication.\nA team player with a practical and solution-oriented approach.\nAbility to travel independently for occasional site visits throughout Belgium.\nAssignment Details\nStart: ASAP\nEnd: 31 December 2027\nWorking pattern: Full-time\nLocation: Company office, Monnoyer, Léon Monnoyerkaai 3, 1000 Brussels\nRegion: Northeast Belgium\nRequirements for Non-EU Candidates\nFor non-EU candidates, candidates must meet the following requirements:\nHold a valid work permit authorising them to work in Belgium.\nHold a valid residence permit confirming their right to reside in Belgium.\nWhat Makes This Assignment Attractive?\nAn Interesting Energy Sector Project\nThe company encourages innovation and collaboration.
