The successful candidate will play a key role in managing project finances, overseeing subcontractor accounts, controlling costs and ensuring effective commercial and contractual management across a range of projects nationwide.\nThe Role\nRoleTo manage the financial and contractual aspects of subcontractor accounts across multiple projects nationwide, ensuring effective cost control, risk management and commercial performance throughout the project lifecycle. The role involves providing commercial guidance, maintaining effective communication with subcontractors and internal teams, and supporting the successful delivery of projects while maximising value and profitability.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nManage all commercial aspects of projects, ensuring effective financial and contractual control.\nReview, analyse and agree subcontract documentation, including terms and conditions, warranties and bonds.\nInvestigate, prepare and submit variations, claims and measurements to support interim valuations and final account settlements.\nMonitor and report on project costs, revenue performance, cost forecasts and cash flow.\nProvide commercial and contractual advice to internal teams and relevant external stakeholders.\nReview, negotiate and agree subcontractor accounts, ensuring accuracy and compliance with contractual obligations.\nAttend project sites nationwide to monitor commercial progress and coordinate with subcontractors and project teams.\n\nSkills, Experience and Qualifications\n\nMinimum of five years' experience in the construction industry, ideally within structural steelwork.\nPrevious experience in the structural steel sector would be advantageous but is not essential.\nStrong understanding of commercial and contractual management, cost control, variations, valuations and final accounts.\nExcellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.\nRelevant academic qualifications, such as an HND or degree, would be advantageous.\nProfessional membership of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) would be beneficial.\n\nWorking Hours\n\nMonday to Thursday: 8:30 am - 5:00 pm.\nFriday: 8:30 am - 3:45 pm.\n\nSalary and Benefits\n\nSalary will be dependent on experience.
