The role is responsible for implementing security procedures, managing user access, monitoring security activities, and supporting compliance with organizational security policies and standards.\n\nThe Senior Security Administrator will support the administration, monitoring, and continual improvement of our cybersecurity applications and platforms. The individual will play a key role in ensuring the ongoing functionality of existing security tools. The ideal candidate will have a foundational knowledge of cybersecurity principles and a strong willingness to learn and grow into an engineering-focused career path.\n\nAdminister and maintain cybersecurity platforms (e.g., SIEMs, EDR solutions, vulnerability scanners, email security gateways, public security scoring sites).\nMonitor cybersecurity tools and platforms for disruptions, alerts, misconfigurations, and performance issues.\nPerform basic troubleshooting of platforms and escalate significant issues and incidents to senior security staff in a timely manner.\nRecommend and assist with functional improvements to existing security solutions.\nParticipate in audits, security reviews, and compliance initiatives as needed.\nAssist in documenting cybersecurity processes, configurations, and workflows.\n\nMINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:\n\n4+ years or more of overall IT experience, preferably in systems, network, infrastructure, or technical support environments\n1-2 years of experience in cybersecurity or information security, with exposure to security operations and administration\n1-2 years of experience working with cloud environments, such as Microsoft Azure, GCP, AWS or similar platforms\nExperience with anti-malware and malware response, basic administration and monitoring of security tools including antivirus/EDR, SIEM platforms, firewalls, and identity and access management (IAM) systems\nExperience identifying, assessing, and remediating security vulnerabilitiesacross systems, applications, and infrastructure\nExposure to security and secrets management platformsused to protect credentials, keys, passwords, and other sensitive information\nAbility to properly handle confidential and sensitive information\nBasic understanding of encryption technologies and digital certificate management, including certificate installation, renewal, and troubleshooting\nBasic experience with incident response & resolutionon Windows and Linux systems, including investigation, containment, and remediation\nStrong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate and resolve security-related issues\nExperiencewith runningscriptsand scripting languagesnecessary for troubleshooting and identifying\n\nEDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:\n\nBachelor's degree in information systems or comparable experience\nCEH, CHFI, SSCP or Security+ highly desired\n\nESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:\nMonitor various platforms for security design flaws, configuration flaws, and other security related service changes\nMonitor ticketing systems and respond according to severity\nPerform platform configuration updates as required for end-user operation\nMonitor end-user compliance with acceptable use policies and configurations remain in compliance with security requirements\nEnsure known vulnerabilities are managed and mitigated in a timely manner\nEvaluate security implications of current processes, service requests, and proposed changes\nResponding to security events and participating in investigations\nEnsure regulatory controls are followed and evidence of violation is maintained for review\nMaintain current knowledge of security practices\n\nADDITIONAL CHARACTERISTICS:\nKnowledge of NIST, CIS Top 20, and ISO 27001 controls\nKnowledge of business impact and critical needs for IT services\nAbility to manage tasks independently and escalate as necessary\nAbility to work with and coordinate between multiple groups\nAbility to function in a dynamic environment, manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines\nAbility to prioritize appropriately & ability to pay attention to detail\nDesire to learn security best practices and promote security throughout the organization\nCommitted to diversity and inclusionAt Manhattan, it's about more than just the work.
