As an Accounting Manager, you will lead and oversee a team of four members while managing day-to-day accounting operations and ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting and compliance. You will work closely with the CFO in Norway and key stakeholders to maintain strong financial controls, support audits, and drive operational efficiency and process improvements.
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Lead and oversee the day-to-day accounting operations of MB AS, ensuring efficient service delivery and the timely and accurate completion of accounting activities
· Maintain overall accountability for the accuracy and timeliness of premium invoicing, claims payments, fund distributions, supplier payments, and related accounting processes
· Lead month-end and year-end closing activities, ensuring timely completion of reconciliations, financial reports, and supporting schedules
· Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and timely submission of claims and premium bordereaux, management reports, and other reporting requirements
· Lead and coordinate annual audits, Canopius/NHC audits, and other financial or compliance reviews, ensuring audit readiness and prompt resolution of findings
· Maintain a strong control environment and ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and governance expectations
· Lead, coach, and develop team members while managing workloads, resources, and operational priorities to achieve departmental objectives
· Serve as the primary contact for auditors, underwriters, brokers, banks, and other stakeholders while partnering closely with the CFO in Norway and internal departments to strengthen operational efficiency, reporting, controls, and process improvements
Requirements
Must-have Skills / Qualification:
· Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy
· Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
· Strong foundation in accounting principles and the full accounting cycle, from start to finish
· Strong accounting and financial reporting knowledge
· Experience working closely with and/or overseeing an audit/accounting team
· Strong MS Excel skills
· Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal, especially when dealing with international stakeholders
· Proactive and solution-oriented, with the ability to handle multiple matters in a fast-paced environment
· Strong integrity and work ethic
· Team-oriented and collaborative, with genuine care and respect for colleagues
· Able to deliver results and take ownership of responsibilities
· Flexible and adaptable when working with local and international teams
· Humble, teachable, and eager to learn
Advantageous:
· Senior Audit Associate experience, particularly from a Big 4 or established audit firm
