You will work as part of a geographically distributed technology team and collaborate closely with Platform Architects, Infrastructure, Development, and Operations teams.\n Duties and Responsibilities:\n· Manage and maintain database environments hosted in AWS, including databases running within EC2 HADR environments\n· Monitor and optimize database performance, availability, capacity, and overall reliability\n· Support IBM Db2 environments and contribute to database-related projects, upgrades, and improvements\n· Support PostgreSQL environments where applicable\n· Manage and troubleshoot high-availability database clusters, including multi-node environments\n· Support disaster recovery (DR), backup and recovery, and database resilience activities\n· Investigate and resolve database-related L2/L3 incidents, including performance issues, cluster issues, system jobs, and other production incidents\n· Participate in the investigation and resolution of P1/P2 incidents, including after-hours incidents when required\n· Monitor database and infrastructure environments using relevant observability and monitoring tools\n· Support database migrations, upgrades, configuration changes, and other technical projects\n· Perform capacity management and identify potential performance, storage, or resource constraints before they affect production systems\n· Work within established incident and change management processes, ensuring issues and changes are properly investigated, documented, and resolved\n· Collaborate with Platform Architects and other technical teams on platform governance, automation, and database best practices\n· Contribute to automation and improvements that make database operations more efficient, reliable, and repeatable\n· Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation, responding to production incidents and support requests within the expected response time\n· Work effectively with geographically distributed teams and communicate clearly with colleagues across different regions\nRequirements\n· Solid hands-on experience as a Database Administrator or in a closely related database infrastructure role\n· At least 3 years of hands-on AWS experience supporting mission-critical production database environments\n· Strong experience with PostgreSQL or another relevant enterprise relational database\n· Strong experience of database maintenance including performance, high availability, backup/recovery, disaster recovery, and capacity management\n· Experience troubleshooting production database issues, including performance problems, cluster issues, system jobs, and availability-related incidents.\n· Experience working with Linux/operating systems in a database or infrastructure environment\n· Experience working with incident and change management processes, particularly in a production or mission-critical environment\n· Ability to independently investigate technical issues and demonstrate clear ownership of database-related problems\n· Experience working with cloud infrastructure, database tooling, monitoring, or observability platforms\n· Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with geographically distributed technical teams\n· Willingness and ability to participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation, including responding to critical incidents outside regular working hours\n Advantageous or Nice to haves:\n· Hands-on experience with IBM DB2, particularly DB2 on AWS/EC2\n· Strong PostgreSQL experience\n· Experience with high-availability clusters, disaster recovery, and backup/recovery\n· Experience with Bash/shell/Python scripting and automation\n· Familiarity with Bitbucket, JIRA, and observability/monitoring tools\n· Experience supporting cloud migrations, upgrades, and mission-critical systems\n· IBM DB2 certification is an
