Your journey starts now-protect and innovate with MANTECH!\nMANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Certified Welding Inspector to join our vehicle sustainment team in Kindsbach, Germany. The selected candidate will provide maintenance and logistics support to multiple families of vehicles globally on the Allied Logistics Engineering Capabilities Sustainment (ALECS) program.\nPlease Note : For positions requiring welding skills, candidates must successfully pass a standardized certification test in accordance with AWS and MANTECH Weld Procedures. Failure to validate welding proficiency may result in withdrawal of the offer or termination. Maintaining certification and the ability to perform assigned duties is a condition of continued employment.\n*Important Note*: Selected candidates require favorable completion and receipt of Technical Expert Status Accreditation (TESA) from the German Lander. TESA Approval Organization. Any stated date is an approximate projection based upon the eleven (11) week TESA review cycle.\nResponsibilities include but are not limited to:\nResearch, plan, design, and develop new applications for electromechanical equipment and systems to support fabrication and sustainment.\nReview contractor standards, specifications, and other technical documentation to determine mechanical engineering and welding requirements.\nDesign or assess simple mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, ventilation, and instrumentation systems using investigative techniques and engineering methods.\nGather and analyze basic engineering data; perform calculations and simple tests to support system upgrades or application improvements.\nGuide and assist technicians in the fabrication and installation of mechanical equipment to ensure conformance with engineering specifications and customer requirements.\nInspect welding work on ballistic hulls and vehicle components using AWS D1.1 standards; evaluate field installations and recommend design modifications to improve performance.\nReview and correct engineering drawings to ensure alignment with technical and safety standards.\nMinimum Qualifications:\nTen (10) years of relevant experience in welding, inspection, or electromechanical systems.\nValid AWS Welding Inspector certification.\nFamiliarity with MIG, TIG, ARC, FCAW, and SMAW processes to interpret and inspect completed welds.\nExperience reviewing mechanical and pneumatic systems for compliance with engineering standards.\nStrong institutional knowledge of electromechanical, mechanical, and pneumatic systems, acquired through direct military or commercial equipment support.\nAbility to meet government physical deployment standards and travel extensively to both CONUS and OCONUS locations, including hostile zones.\nValid AWS Welding Inspector certification or ability to obtain within 90 days of the first day of employment.\nAbility to successfully pass a Pre-Employment Drug Screening; must possess a Valid Driver’s License for the location in which the work will be performed, a High School Diploma or GED, and a U.S. Passport valid for at least two years beyond the start date.\nPreferred Qualifications:\nPrevious maintenance experience with MRAP Family of Vehicles (FOV) or RCV systems.\nExperience operating or maintaining systems in hostile environments.\nFamiliarity with ballistic hull welding and blueprint-driven fabrication.\nAbility to contribute to engineering design feedback and technical documentation.\nClearance Requirements:\nMust be a US Citizen with a current/active secret clearance.\nPhysical Requirements:\nMust be able to balance, bend, carry, crouch, stretch, and kneel.\nMust be able to push, pull, and reach.\nMust be able to work in high-noise environments.\nMust be able to lift up to 50 lbs and small parts.\nMust be able to use computers and CRTs, and type on a standard keyboard.\nThe projected compensation range for this position is $53,000.00-$88,100.00. There are differentiating factors that can impact a final salary/hourly rate, including, but not limited to, Contract Wage Determination, relevant work experience, skills and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location (For Remote Opportunities), education and certifications as well as Federal Government Contract Labor categories.
