This is a remote position with a preference for candidates located in the National Capital Region. Ability to travel for initial onboarding and laptop pickup (estimated 1 day).\nAs a Data Scientist, you will support a key Federal customer with high impact advanced analytics, data science pipeline development, and interactive data visualization for custom client applications.\nResponsibilities include but are not limited to:\nApply and validate data mining methods and machine learning models.\nDesign and implement data-driven solutions, with a specific focus on advanced analytical methods, data models, and visualizations.\nDevelop quantitative simulations and models to provide descriptive and predictive analytics solution recommendations.\nIdentify trends and problems through complex big data analysis.\nMaintain current knowledge of emerging tools and techniques in machine learning, statistical modeling, and analytics.\nServe as a key member of a data science project team, supporting other data scientists and consultants in the performance of assigned tasks.\nMinimum Qualifications:\n6+ years of relevant experience in applied research directed to machine learning, data science, applied mathematics, statistics, computer science, operations research, or a closely related quantitative or mathematical discipline.\nAdvanced Degree (Master’s) in Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Data Science, Computer Science, Operations Research, or a closely related quantitative or mathematical discipline.\nDemonstrated experience with data mining methods, databases, data visualization, and machine learning.\nPreferred Qualifications:\nExperience with analytic techniques such as anomaly detection, clustering, entity resolution, risk-based modeling, and network and cohort analysis.\nExpertise with Qlik and/or other BI tools such as Tableau and PowerBI.\nFamiliarity with Databricks or similar cloud-based distributed database technologies.\nStrong SQL skills and demonstrated experience with cleaning, managing, optimizing performance, and processing large volumes of data.\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills.\nClearance Requirements:\nMust possess an active TS clearance, CBP BI, or DHS Suitability (adjudicated within the past 4 years).\nPhysical Requirements:\nThe person in this position must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.\nNeeds to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.\nFrequently communicates with co-workers, management, and customers, which may involve delivering presentations. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.\nThe projected compensation range for this position is $128,800.00-$214,500.00. There are differentiating factors that can impact a final salary/hourly rate, including, but not limited to, Contract Wage Determination, relevant work experience, skills and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location (For Remote Opportunities), education and certifications as well as Federal Government Contract Labor categories.
