Your journey starts now-protect and innovate with MANTECH!\nMANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Senior Auxiliary Systems Engineer to join our team working in the Washington D.C. Navy Yard. This is a hybrid position requiring at least 3 days onsite per week.\nResponsibilities include but are not limited to:\nProvide technical support and assess risk for technical decisions for Ford Class Ship Design Managers (SDMs) and Auxiliary System Engineering Manager (SEM)\nCollaborate with the SUPSHIP Newport News to resolve Auxiliary System technical matters\nProvide written responses to requests for technical assistance or adjudication received via letter, Departure from Specification (DFS), and Nuclear Liaison Action Request (NLAR)\nAddress technical issues with ship modernization efforts executed via Ship Change Documents (SCDs) and support development of new SCDs\nCoordinate with Engineering Agents, Technical Authorities, TYCOM, PMS 312, PMS 378, SUPSHIP, Newport News Shipbuilding, & other activities\nDevelop and issue Auxiliary Systems Government Furnished Information (GFI) packages to Newport News Shipbuilding\nReview technical data packages, drawings, reports, logistics products, training, etc. and provide written technical recommendations\nReview ship, procurement, and systems specifications and submit written proposals for changes.\nMinimum Qualifications:\nBachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical discipline, or a High School Diploma and 10+ years of required experience, as listed above, being completed while active duty in the USN, USCG or Merchant Marines may be considered\n10+ years of experience with one or more of the following auxiliary systems: Air Conditioning (AC) plants, refrigeration systems, seawater and freshwater systems, oxygen and nitrogen generating systems, and/or HVAC\nMust have experience communicating effectively with technical and non-technical staff both verbally and through writing\nPreferred Qualifications:\nWorked with or at a shipyard, Naval Surface/Undersea Warfare Center (NSWC/NUWC), Supervisor of Shipbuilding Command (SUPSHIP), Regional Maintenance Center (RMC), and/or Type Commander (TYCOM) or similar organizations supporting construction, operation, maintenance, modernization, and/or repair of shipboard auxiliary systems\nExperience with U.S. Navy nuclear powered ships\nClearance Requirements:\nU.S. citizenship required and a current or active Secret clearance or ability to obtain an Interim secret prior to start.\nPhysical Requirements:\nThe person in this position must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.\nOccasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, or to communicate with co-workers, management, and customers, via email, phone, and or virtual communication, which may involve delivering presentations.\nThe projected compensation range for this position is $116,400.00-$194,900.00. There are differentiating factors that can impact a final salary/hourly rate, including, but not limited to, Contract Wage Determination, relevant work experience, skills and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location (For Remote Opportunities), education and certifications as well as Federal Government Contract Labor categories.
