This position supports the high-visibility Enterprise Infrastructure Services (EIS) organization, responsible for the delivery and security of MPO’s Enterprise Information Technology (EIT), the foundation for enterprise-wide services. As a Systems Engineer, you will work alongside customers, Integrated Product Teams (IPTs), and vendors to support the implementation and compliance of advanced EIT capabilities through Data Center & Compute Services.\nResponsibilities include, but are not limited to:\nDaily troubleshooting of Linux, Windows, Red Hat 6, 7, 8, and 9 Operating Systems\nProviding Ubuntu support\nOversee cross-platform virtual machine lifecycles across Linux hypervisor environments (possibly Windows), optimizing resource allocation and compute capacity.\nMaintain and manage various versions of OpenStack across multi-region deployments\nTroubleshoot issues across Agency GOTS OpenStack platforms\nWrite and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Ansible and Puppet\nMay include developing end-to-end Python and Bash scripts to automate daily operational tasks, reduce manual toil, and streamline system provisioning workflows\nManage YUM repos (GOTS repository management)\nUtilize Naemon and Grafana diagnostic tooling to execute systemic performance analysis and proactively address health degraded states.\nMinimum Qualifications:\nBachelor’s degree in systems engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or related discipline with 14 years of relevant experience as a Systems Engineer OR 19 years of Systems Engineering experience with no degree.\nIAT II certification (DoD 8140 required upon start of employment. Acceptable certifications include: CCNA-Security/CySA+/GICSP/GSEC/Security+ CE/CND/SSCP)\nOpenStack experience\nLinux experience to include Red Hat \nExperience with Grafana OR Naemon\nHypervisor Virtual Machine, Ansible OR Puppet experience\nPreferred Qualifications:\nMachineShop experience\nPython development language\nUnderstanding of Return-to-Service (RTS) protocols\nFamiliarity with Pagent and Putty\nBash scripting\nClearance Requirements:\nMust possess and maintain a current/active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph\nPhysical Requirements:\nMust be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time\nOccasionally moves about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.\nFrequently communicate with co-workers, management, and customers, including delivering presentations. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations\nThe projected compensation range for this position is $128,000.00-$214,400.00. There are differentiating factors that can impact a final salary/hourly rate, including, but not limited to, Contract Wage Determination, relevant work experience, skills and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location (For Remote Opportunities), education and certifications as well as Federal Government Contract Labor categories.
