Mantis Innovation is a Houston-based energy and facility services firm offering building controls and automation, energy efficiency projects, energy procurement and advisory, and facility assessments such as commercial roofing surveys. It reports about 2 billion square feet of managed facility space and 10,000 clients across North America, with offices in Colorado, Massachusetts, Illinois and New Jersey. Openings include building controls and BMS technicians, controls application engineers and project managers, many focused on data centers, alongside roofing survey technicians, construction quality observers, estimators and energy brokerage sales executives.

Summary

The Survey Technician performs field inspections and data collection to assess the condition of building assets. This role gathers accurate field data, identifies facility defects and safety issues, and supports project teams with clear documentation and recommendations. This work schedule requires regular overnight travel for stretches of approximately 3 weeks at a time, which may increase or decrease depending on project requirements.

This role operates at the front lines of Mantis’ facility asset management methodology, with heavy use of our field-based Mantis Perform mobile app. Technicians serve as the face of the company on-site and play a critical role in capturing the data that drives client decisions. Work is completed in the field on client sites across the country under the direction of a Project Manager or Field Team Leader.
