We are looking for a team member who is curious about emerging technologies, comfortable working with legacy systems and motivated to find creative solutions that contribute meaningfully to delivery.\nAs a highly motivated Business Systems Analyst, you will help guide updates to the microservices that support insurance or investment needs. You will communicate, coordinate and collaborate across teams to understand business goals, design solutions aligned with established practices, assess impacts to downstream and connected systems, and support end-to-end delivery. You will be part of a collaborative Agile team that values shared accountability and getting work done together.\nPosition Responsibilities:\nActively participate in all Agile ceremonies, review documentation and collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to understand objectives and clarify system needs and impacts. \nInterpret high-level designs to support the creation of technical user stories and delivery estimates. \nUse AI-enabled tools and practices to enhance requirements gathering, analysis, documentation and solution design, while validating outputs for accuracy, compliance and alignment with business objectives. \nBreak down designs into technical user stories and supporting documentation that guide engineering solutions and test automation toward clearly defined success criteria. \nOrganize and coordinate user stories and other engineering tasks to support incremental delivery. \nCollaborate with product partners, analysts, engineers, architects and other team members to create and maintain the artifacts required for accurate, timely and reliable implementation, including user stories, test results and approvals. \nPrioritize work across multiple concurrent deliverables for yourself and others. \nPerform functional testing, identify defects and complete retesting to support successful implementation. \nPartner with team members to analyze system defects and identify root causes. \nIdentify opportunities to improve system effectiveness and refine Agile processes to deliver changes more efficiently. \nBuild and maintain an organized repository of system documentation.\nRequired Qualifications:\n5+ years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst, Technical Analyst or Software Engineer. \nDetail-oriented approach with strong technical, analytical, conceptual, diagnostic and problem-solving skills. \nStrong written and verbal communication, interpersonal and facilitation skills. \nAbility to negotiate effectively when distinguishing business needs from preferences, balancing business direction and requirements with development cost and risk. \nStrong planning and organizational skills, with the ability to self-manage and help coordinate delivery schedules across multiple parallel initiatives. \nInterest in mentoring others in analysis, collaboration and organization, particularly using tools such as Jira and Confluence.\nPreferred Qualifications:\nExperience using AI-assisted analysis techniques for research, requirements discovery and documentation. \nDemonstrated ability to learn new business processes, technologies and tools quickly. \nAbility to apply analytical and decision-making skills to develop options and resolve problems in a variety of contexts. \nExperience working within an Agile framework. \nWhen you join our team:\nWe’ll empower you to learn and grow the career you want. \nWe’ll recognize and support you in a flexible environment where well-being and inclusion are more than just words. \nAs part of our global team, we’ll support you in shaping the future you want to see. \nThe role being advertised is an existing vacancy.\nAbout Manulife and John Hancock\nManulife Financial Corporation is a leading international financial services provider, helping people make their decisions easier and lives better.
