The role partners with business, product, architecture, and engineering teams to enable reporting, analytics, decision-making, and selected AI use cases.\nKey Responsibilities:\nTranslate business needs into testable data requirements across GWAM domains, including clients, distribution, products and funds, accounts, AUM, transactions, and profitability.\nLead or support discovery sessions and prepare business requirements specifications, source-to-target mappings, user stories, acceptance criteria, and process flows.\nUse SQL to profile, investigate, and reconcile data; identify gaps and anomalies; and support solution design.\nPartner with data engineers and architects to deliver scalable solutions on the Enterprise Data Lake platform.\nSupport data mapping, cleansing, transformation, integration, quality controls, testing, user acceptance, and production readiness.\nDevelop dashboards and analytical outputs that communicate clear, actionable insights.\nAlign data definitions, ownership, lineage, and quality expectations across markets, and escalate material risks or dependencies promptly.\nRequired Qualifications & Skills:\nEducation: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Analytics, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Finance, Business Analysis, or a related discipline.\nExperience: 3-5 years in a Data Analyst, BI Analyst, data-focused Business Analyst, or similar role.\nStrong SQL and Excel skills, with experience in requirements gathering, data mapping, profiling, reconciliation, data quality, and testing.\nAbility to translate business needs into clear requirements for technical teams.\nStrong analytical, problem-solving, prioritization, and English communication skills.\nPreferred Experience and Collaboration:\nWealth or asset-management experience; broader financial-services experience is also valuable.\nExperience with Power BI and one or more of Python, R, Spark, Databricks, Azure Data Lake Storage, or Azure Data Factory.\nKnowledge of data governance, metadata, lineage, data products, or Agile delivery.\nStrong stakeholder management skills and ability to collaborate across Canada and Asia in a global, multicultural, distributed team.\nWhen you join our team:\nWe’ll empower you to learn and grow the career you want.\nWe’ll recognize and support you in a flexible environment where well-being and inclusion are more than just words.\nAs part of our global team, we’ll support you in shaping the future you want to see.\nAbout Manulife and John Hancock\nManulife Financial Corporation is a leading international financial services provider, helping people make their decisions easier and lives better.
