You’ll build engaging front-end experiences with React while developing and integrating APIs and server-side services, all within a collaborative Agile and DevOps environment.\nIf you enjoy solving challenging problems, experimenting with new approaches, and building high-quality products that create a better digital experience, this could be a great next step.\nWhat You’ll Do\nDesign, develop, test, deliver, maintain, and continuously improve full-stack business applications.\nBuild modern, responsive, reusable user experiences using React, JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3.\nDesign and integrate APIs, databases, server-side logic, and front-end components.\nDevelop reusable and maintainable React components using technologies such as Redux.\nApply disciplined engineering practices, design patterns, automation, and semantic versioning to deliver high-quality software.\nBuild automated tests and test harnesses that support reliable releases and continuous integration.\nPerform technical spikes and prototypes to evaluate ideas, reduce uncertainty, and solve complex engineering challenges.\nTroubleshoot defects, improve application performance, and continuously enhance the quality and efficiency of our software.\nBuild digital experiences with accessibility and mobile responsiveness at the forefront, including alignment with WCAG 2.1.\nWork within modern CI/CD and DevSecOps practices.\nParticipate in design discussions, brainstorming, code reviews, and peer collaboration.\nPartner with business, product, design, and technology stakeholders to transform requirements into effective digital solutions.\nCreate technical documentation to support deployment, maintenance, operations, and evolving business needs.\nShare your expertise with other engineers and contribute to a culture of continuous learning and improvement.\nWhat You Bring\n3-5 years of professional Full Stack Software Engineering experience.\nStrong hands-on experience with React, Node.js, Express, JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3.\nExperience building and testing modern front-end applications.\nStrong knowledge of React component architecture and Redux, with an emphasis on reusable, efficient, maintainable components.\nUnderstanding of React server-side rendering.\nStrong CSS expertise and experience building responsive, scalable user interfaces.\nExperience developing digital products with accessibility built into the design and development lifecycle.\nExperience developing applications in alignment with accessibility standards such as WCAG 2.1.\nUnderstanding of Agile, DevOps, automated testing, continuous integration, API development, and database design.\nStrong communication skills with the ability to clearly articulate technical concepts, options, and outcomes.\nA collaborative mindset and the ability to understand and respond to the needs of clients and stakeholders.\nEven Better If You Have\nExperience or exposure to Adobe Experience Manager (AEM).\nCloud development experience using Microsoft Azure and Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) or a similar container platform.\nExperience with PaaS and microservices architectures.\nKnowledge of CI/CD technologies such as Jenkins or TeamCity.\nFamiliarity with GitHub Actions.\nExperience with code quality and application security tools such as SonarQube, Fortify, and WebInspect.\nExperience mentoring junior engineers and a genuine interest in helping other developers grow.\nWhy Join Us?\nAt Manulife, you’ll have the opportunity to do more than write code.
