The Opportunity

Lead the design, delivery, and continuous enhancement of IFRS17 reporting solutions by driving cross-functional collaboration, automation initiatives, and stakeholder alignment. This role combines technical expertise, stakeholder influence, and people leadership to deliver meaningful business outcomes while developing a high-performing team of reporting professionals.

Responsibilities:

  • Own the identification, prioritization, and delivery of IFRS17 reporting process improvements, automation opportunities, and new technologies to enhance efficiency, quality, scalability, and controls.

  • Maintain a strong understanding of IFRS17 reporting processes, data flows, systems, and methodologies, applying technical expertise and professional judgment to independently review, validate, and challenge reporting solutions and outputs.

  • Partner with actuarial, finance, reporting, and technology teams to design scalable and sustainable reporting solutions.

  • Translate business challenges into solution requirements and ensure proposed changes address underlying process inefficiencies.

  • Lead cross-functional solution delivery from concept through implementation, ensuring successful adoption and realization of business benefits.

  • Build strong relationships across actuarial, finance, technology, and regional teams to drive alignment and change adoption.

  • Facilitate discussions, manage competing priorities, and drive consensus on solution direction and implementation plans.

  • Exercise sound judgment in managing competing priorities, resolving issues, balancing resource demands, and achieving practical outcomes across stakeholders.

  • Communicate progress, risks, and benefits clearly to senior management and key stakeholders.

  • Provide people leadership, performance management, coaching, and career development support for team members.

  • Support succession planning, talent development, and retention by partnering with managers to provide team members with effective coaching, development opportunities, and career guidance.

  • Contribute as a member of the Malaysia Actuarial Services leadership team, fostering innovation, collaboration, and a culture that embraces continuous improvement and change.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics or a related field

  • 7-9 years in Actuarial team, preferably in valuation team or with IFRS17 reporting experience.

  • Near-qualified actuary or demonstrating good exam progress

  • Experience in guiding and coaching junior analyst.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong understanding of financial/ economic principles and mathematical skills

  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office applications

  • Strong oral and written communication skills

  • Well-developed analytical and problem-solving ability

  • Strong knowledge of business unit and its profitability drivers
