gathering and analysis of user requirements and provide consultation on estimates, sprint planning and validating / qualifying estimates provided by development teams and third parties.\n\nTranslate user requirements into software requirements\n\nAssess application architecture impact and follow sound systems design principles, maximizing reuse of components and flexibility in configuration of design to support multiple country, sales channel, and life insurance product requirements.\n\nMaintain the quality standards of the application platform, ensuring robust QA and code review processes are in place.\n\nEstablish and adhere to DevSecOps practices to maximize automation and continuous delivery practices, including comprehensive unit test automation.\n\nMaintain systems development standards, patterns and ensure compliance.\n\nPrepare and maintain full technical documentation of development tasks and deliverables\n\nTroubleshoot system errors reported by users\n\nApply change management principles where appropriate in the IT process to effectively deliver solutions\n\nEnsure IT operational SLA compliance and operational efficiency of IT processes in support of business goals\n\nDefine and promote software engineering standards\n\nCollaborate with fellow Lead Software Engineers in the region to build an exciting and innovative culture within the teams across Manulife automation practices.\n\nOpen for travel within Asia Region.\n\nPeople Development/Leadership \nProvide technical leadership to one or more agile delivery squads.\n\nParticipate/lead in cross training methodology.\n\nRequired Qualifications:\nGeneral\nPassionate about software engineering.\n\nBuilt applications for large number of users and dealing with the challenges this brings.\n\nGood understanding of design patterns, and why and when to use them.\n\nWorks in a structured logical way and does not just jump into new technology without fully understanding it.\n\nPrevious experience setting up patterns for other engineers to follow and provide mentoring to the wider team.\n\nPrevious experience designing application architectures\n\nExperience\nA minimum of 15 years of experience in designing and developing integrated digital solutions.\n\nExtensive experience in building Microservices and Cloud Native Applications\n\nExtensive experience in delivering user-centric front-end applications (web and/or mobile)\n\nExperience in delivering projects from inception through to post-implementation warranty using Agile DevSecOps project delivery methodologies.\n\nExpert level experience of cloud PaaS services (Azure, AWS, Google Cloud Platform)\n\nExperience in delivering projects involving stakeholders from multiple locations\n\nSolid understanding of software delivery processes and tools (i.e. distributed version control systems, CI/CD)\n\nRecognize the importance of high quality code through non-negotiables like unit tests, integration/acceptance tests, performant, secure.\n\nSolid experience in implementing Site Reliability Engineering Principles and Practices for Enterprise Level Software Applications\n\nSolid experience in Cloud Security Concepts\n\nInsurance industry knowledge is seen as advantageous\n\nTechnical Skills\nExpert knowledge of Cloud Services, preferably Azure.\n\nExpert knowledge in OOP frameworks and libraries, preferably Java Springboot and/or NodeJS.\n\nExpert knowledge in Cloud Native Development using PaaS solutions and containerization\n\nExpert knowledge in API Driven Development\n\nExpert knowledge in modern front-end web technologies, including Single Page Applications, Web Components, Service Workers and micro-frontends.\n\nExpert knowledge in API Gateways, Messaging, Data Event Streaming, REST,
