This role will be critical towards execution of the priority to position Manulife as a digital customer leader by supporting a robust BI platform and delivery framework for various business reporting initiatives.\nWe are looking for the right individual who would be interested in the opportunity to support and enhance our BI capabilities, strong willingness to learn and build BI delivery skills through team collaboration, desire to drive and execute on our data strategy, willing to help mature our BI practices, and is looking for an opportunity to embrace technical, operational, and team lead responsibilities.\nPosition Responsibilities:\nPlay team lead role for the delivery of priority global, regional, and local BI programs for various businesses and functions.\n\nPartner with business stakeholders, Product Owners, and subject matter experts to gather, analyze, validate, and document business requirements.\n\nPrepare project plan and subsidiary plan (communication, training plan etc) and project registers (risk, issues, actions, decisions)\n\nDirect the day-to-day project activities and manage the team towards project objectives.\n\nLead the team to deliver required ETL and other data applications via Cloud-based Enterprise Data Lake (EDL) platform.\n\nLead the team to execute data gathering and cleansing to ensure data accuracy and reliability, data transformation and integration into suitable format for analysis, developing charts/graphs and dashboards to present data insights to stakeholders through compelling narratives supported by visualizations.\n\nFacilitate workshops, requirement discovery sessions, process mapping exercises, and solution design discussions.\n\nHandle problem resolution and escalates issues/risks to sponsors / steering committee as required.\n\nContribute to standards and best practices across different functions within Asia Data Office Team.\n\nSupport System Integrated Testing, User Acceptance Testing (UAT), business validation, and production readiness activities.\n\nRequired Qualifications:\n8 years of experience in BI Analyst, Data Analyst, BI Engneer, Data Engineer\n\nProficient in Data Manipulation, Data Analysis, Data Warehousing, Data Mining & Extraction, Data Visualization, and ETL processes\n\nProficiency in tools such as Power BI, SQL, Python, R, Spark, and Excel for data querying, manipulation and analysis\n\nExperience with big data tools such as ADLS, Data Factory, DataBricks, etc\n\nAbility to interpret and translate terminology between technical and business users\n\nCollaborate with geographically and culturally diverse teams across various regions.\n\nAbility to translate complex business problems into actionable analytical and technical solutions.\n\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills\n\nExperience creating user stories, business requirements documents (BRDs), functional specifications, use cases, workflow diagrams, and acceptance criteria.\n\nStrong understanding of Agile, Scrum, Kanban, and iterative delivery methodologies.\n\nProficient written and oral communication skills in the English language\n\nPreferred Qualifications:\nTeam lead or project management experience\n\nExperience in insurance and/or financial industry\n\nWhen you join our team:\nWe’ll empower you to learn and grow the career you want.\n\nWe’ll recognize and support you in a flexible environment where well-being and inclusion are more than just words.\n\nAs part of our global team, we’ll support you in shaping the future you want to see.\n\nAbout Manulife and John Hancock\nManulife Financial Corporation is a leading international financial services provider, helping people make their decisions easier and lives better.
