We believe in the value of empowering our team members with the resources to solve critical problems for the future of the business, which is why we need you!\nPosition Responsibilities:\nLead the end-to-end lifecycle of complex technology initiatives, from planning and mobilization through delivery, implementation, and post-implementation review.\nDefine program scope, objectives, outcomes, milestones, delivery plans, governance, and success measures in partnership with business and technology stakeholders.\nCoordinate work across engineering, architecture, product, operations, security, risk, and vendor teams to maintain alignment and delivery momentum.\nBuild and maintain integrated program plans that identify milestones, resources, cross-team dependencies, critical paths, and delivery commitments.\nProactively identify, assess, and manage risks, issues, assumptions, and dependencies, driving mitigation plans and escalating decisions when needed.\nEstablish clear governance, reporting, and decision-making forums to provide stakeholders and leaders with timely visibility into program health, progress, tradeoffs, and outcomes.\nFacilitate planning sessions, status reviews, dependency discussions, and retrospectives that result in clear decisions, actions, owners, and target dates.\nPartner with technical leads to understand solution architecture, delivery constraints, implementation sequencing, operational readiness, and nonfunctional requirements.\nManage changes to scope, schedule, and delivery approach through transparent impact assessment, stakeholder alignment, and documented decisions.\nTrack program performance and delivery metrics, using data and insights to improve predictability, quality, and execution.\nEnsure implementation, release, change management, and operational readiness activities are coordinated and completed successfully.\nLead post-implementation reviews, capture lessons learned, and drive continuous improvement across program delivery practices.\nBring an innovative mindset to improving delivery processes, team collaboration, and technology outcomes.\nRequired Qualifications:\nMinimum 3+ years of experience in technical program management, technical project management, technology delivery, or a similar role.\nExperience with program and project tracking tools such as Jira, Confluence, or similar platforms.\nExperience with Agile, hybrid, and traditional program delivery methodologies.\nExperience managing large, complex initiatives spanning multiple teams, systems, vendors, or business areas.\nExcellent communication, facilitation, collaboration, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.\nAbility to translate complex technical information into clear plans, decisions, and updates for technical and nontechnical audiences.\nStrong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.\nAbility to influence without direct authority, create accountability, and drive progress in a matrixed environment.\nExperience developing executive-level status reporting, delivery metrics, risk assessments, and decision materials.\nPreferred Qualifications:\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, Business, or a related field, or equivalent experience\nPMP certified.\nKnowledge of life insurance or financial services workflows and regulatory considerations is an asset\nWhen you join our team:\nWe’ll empower you to learn and grow the career you want.\nWe’ll recognize and support you in a flexible environment where well-being and inclusion are more than just words.\nAs part of our global team, we’ll support you in shaping the future you want to see.\nThe role being advertised is an existing vacancy.\nAbout Manulife and John Hancock\nManulife Financial Corporation is a leading international financial services provider, helping people make their decisions easier and lives better.
