We help developers create and share maps that reflect the complexity of our ever-changing world and see exciting opportunities leveraging AI to make maps more intelligent, accessible, and powerful.\nWhat You'll Do\nAs a Product Manager II on the Maps team, you will own how AI shows up in Mapbox Maps: the strategy, roadmap, and delivery of AI-powered capabilities across the Maps (Web, iOS, Android), from natural-language map interaction to AI-assisted styling and contextual map intelligence.\nYou will partner with a globally distributed engineering team, external customers, and stakeholders across Sales, Engineering, Legal, Marketing, and Finance to explore emerging AI capabilities, translate customer needs into better product experiences, and ship solutions that drive customer success and business growth. You’ll bring an AI-forward mindset to both strategy and execution, turning new technologies into practical, scalable capabilities for developers and the end users they serve.\nYou can expect to:\nDefine and execute end-to-end vision and strategy for your product.\n\nConduct analysis to inform your product roadmap and prioritize product backlog.\n\nWork with your engineering team(s) and the broader organization to explore and implement new use cases for your product that address customer pain points and unlock new revenue opportunities.\n\nCollaborate with cross-functional teams to align product goals and delivery phases with overall business objectives.\n\nRegularly engage with our customers to understand their needs, as well as validate our proposed solutions.\n\nOwn pricing and packaging of your product as a standalone SKU (including sales enablement, marketing, customer trials, partnership opportunities).\n\nBecome the expert and point of contact of your product for internal and external questions, feedback, and requests.\n\nWhat We Believe are Important Traits for This Role\n3+ years of experience as a Product Manager: You have seen multiple products (API, SDK, or Data) through a full lifecycle of discovery, development, launch, and adoption in the B2B space.\n\nCustomer focus: You care deeply about your customer’s problems with a keen eye towards design and user experience.\n\nAn analytical approach: You have strong data analytics skills and always use data to properly evaluate the quality of your product, as well as guide your next steps.\n\nPrioritization: You have clear rationale behind the tradeoffs you make and strive to deliver immediate/tangible value to customers.\n\nStrong written and verbal communication skills: You can communicate about complex ideas concisely to a wide audience (e.g. FAQs and business cases for your roadmap).\n\nOwnership: You can develop and execute a plan based on high level direction for feature or product development.\n\nInvent & Simplify: You drive toward the simplest possible solution that drives the most value for customers.\n\nTechnical Chops: You understand and can explain complex technical concepts to a non-technical audience.\n\nGo-to-market experience: You have taken your product to market owning the pricing and packaging strategy.\n\nNice-to-haves: Experience working with AI/ML teams and passion for the mapping or navigation domain space.\n\nWhat We Value\nIn addition to our core values, which are not unique to this position and are necessary for Mapbox leaders:\nWe value high-performing creative individuals who dig into problems and opportunities.\n\nWe believe in individuals being their whole selves at work.
