You’ll report to the Chief Accountant and work closely with fellow Accountants, auditors and colleagues across our international organisation. This mid-level role offers broad responsibility, cross-country exposure and a clear path toward greater seniority.\nRole Description\nWe’re looking for an Accountant who can independently manage the full accounting cycle for an assigned group of Mapon entities. You’ll own day-to-day accounting, support month-end close and statutory reporting, contribute actively to audit work and help maintain accurate, timely and consistent financial information across several countries. You’ll also support a Junior Accountant’s development and help improve and automate routine finance processes.\nWhat you’ll do:\nTake end-to-end ownership of accounting for Mapon entities in Spain, Denmark and Sweden including accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank transactions, payments, corporate cards, reconciliations and intercompany transactions.\nMaintain complete and accurate accounting records in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and related document-processing systems.\nManage fixed-asset accounting and prepare supporting documentation for additions, disposals and reconciliations.\nPrepare VAT declarations, statistical reports and other recurring local reporting requirements, coordinating with internal and external partners where needed.\nSupport the monthly close in line with the Group Accounting calendar, investigate variances and ensure assigned balances are reconciled and documented.\nParticipate actively in external audits by preparing workpapers, responding to sample requests, explaining accounting treatments and coordinating follow-up items for assigned entities.\nProvide accounting support for the Latvian entity and collaborate with colleagues across the wider Group Accounting team.\nGuide and support a Junior Accountant on work related to your country portfolio, contributing to their onboarding and day-to-day development.\nUse professional judgement to resolve accounting questions, escalate material issues appropriately and maintain clear communication with stakeholders.\nIdentify opportunities to simplify, standardise and automate accounting processes, including practical use of AI tools where they add value.\nWhat we’re looking for:\nHigher education in accounting, finance, economics or a related field.\nApproximately 3-5 years of relevant accounting experience, with the ability to manage a defined accounting scope independently.\nStrong practical knowledge of the full accounting cycle, including AP, AR, bank operations, reconciliations, fixed assets, VAT and month-end closing.\nWorking knowledge of Latvian Accounting Standards and confidence working with IFRS-based group policies and reporting requirements.\nExperience supporting external audits, including preparing documentation, responding to sample requests and explaining accounting judgements.\nExperience working with more than one legal entity, country or tax environment; international or multi-country accounting exposure is a strong advantage.\nExperience with accounting or ERP systems.
