Marand\nspecializes in serving the healthcare, financial services, commercial / administrative and light-industrial\nindustries.\nOur ideal candidate will have:\nA bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience\nAt two years of experience in the commercial construction industry, overseeing all aspects of ground-up projects in healthcare, financial, and light industrial sectors.\nThe ability to manage more than 2 projects at one time and have an ambitious approach to balancing workload in a fast-paced environment\nStrong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage multiple teams, subcontractors, and stakeholders\nProficient in project reporting software, MS Office, and blueprint reading\nKnowledge of building codes, safety regulations, and quality standards\nProblem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a proactive and results-oriented approach\nA valid driver’s license and the ability to travel to various job sites\nRequirements\nBachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience\n2 years of commercial construction experience\nProficient with technology\nMust have the ability to manage multiple projects/activities in a dynamic and fast-paced environment\nShould have strong communication skills that allow him/her to interact comfortably with everyone from project owners to tradesmen.\nMust have a basic understanding of the construction process, including materials, equipment, and techniques.\nTravel is a requirement of this job. Travel can be up to 25%.\nResponsibilities\nTypically share the responsibilities of managing the project budget, writing contracts, approving invoices, and updating the project schedule.\nCoordinate among subcontractors and help to resolve any issues or conflicts that arise during the job.\nIn some cases, the Assistant Project Manager might manage the project independently, while the Project Manager might assist with major issues or complications.\nWill benefit from skills such as blueprint reading and the ability to use scheduling software.\nOrganize, process, and distribute pertinent project documents.\nAssist in the development and updating of the project schedule.\nExpedite documents and material and equipment deliveries to meet the project schedule.\nAssist in maintaining cost control data.\nMaintain mutually satisfying long-term relationships with customers, architects, engineers, subcontractors, vendors, and employees.\nPerform various duties in support of the Project Manager.\nAssist the Project team in mobilization, including procurement of permits, trailer set-up, etc.\nAssist the PM in development of a schedule of values and estimate listing and maintenance.\nAssist in updating the overall construction schedule on a regular basis.\nAssist in developing short interval schedules for use at weekly coordination meetings (?).\nAssist in the implementation and tracking of LEED requirements.\nAdminister the document control for shop drawings, Submittals, Subcontracts/Purchase Orders, insurance certificates/Bonds, R.F.I.’s, Plans and specifications, Warranties/as-builts and manuals, Notices to owner/Lien Releases, Construction Bulletins, Change Order Requests from the owner, back charges.\nReview shop drawings and submittals to verify compliance with contract documents.\nAssist the Project Team in the preparation of Cost Reports.\nAssist in subcontractor applications for payment/vendor invoice processing.\nAttend project-related meetings and assist with the preparation and dissemination of minutes and attendee’s roster.\nAssist in the punch list completion process.\nAssist the project team in all close-out procedures and activities.\nAssist in the implementation of warranty work at the direction of the Project Manager.\nPhysical Demands:\nThe individual typically works in an office environment and uses a computer, telephone and other office equipment as needed to perform duties.\nThe employee is regularly required to sit, talk, or hear. Generally, the job requires 70% sitting, 15% walking, and 15% standing.\nFrequently required to use repetitive hand motion, handle, or feel, and to stand, walk, reach, bend or lift up to 20 pounds.\nPlease note that climbing stairs is a physical requirement.
