The Refining Laboratory Technician will report to the Laboratory Supervisor and performs accurate, timely laboratory testing, operates and maintains equipment, and documents results, samples, and test data, to support Refinery production in making quality products in a safe, efficient, and environmentally sound manner.\nRotating shift work is required, including potential for mandatory overtime when conditions warrant.\nRelocation is not approved for this position.\nKEY RESPONSIBILITIES\nPerforms analytical testing with strict adherence to standard operating procedures, generating highly accurate and timely results.\nConducts routine tests, measurements analyses, and preparations in accordance with established methods and procedures. Operates laboratory equipment as part of testing requirements. Records results of the tests and arranges data for review and analysis. Completes routine calculations and reports.\nInputs, submits and receives computer data. Maintains computer databases, runs programs and enters sample and test information into a LIMS.\nCoordinates chain of custody forms, maintains documentation that samples are received in proper containers and at the required temperature, within the appropriate holding time.\nPerforms calibration and maintenance of equipment.\nPerforms multiple analytical tests simultaneously while strictly following procedures.\nProvides quality-control analyses for refinery intermediate streams and finished products, while also providing technical support to the process.\nInitiates certificates of analysis in accordance with product specification requirements.\nDrives a company vehicle to pick up and deliver samples.\nEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE\nMinimum (Required) Qualifications\nBachelor’s degree with 16 hours of college-level chemistry.\nValid Driver's License.\nMust be authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time indefinite basis without the need for employment visa sponsorship now or in the future.\nPreferred Qualifications\nDegree major in Chemistry.\nFour (4) years or more of experience.\nPrior lab experience in petroleum applications.\nUnderstanding of SQC.\nExperience with gas chromatography and wet chemistry.\nSKILLS\nPossess a willingness to make timely decisions and be capable of expanding beyond the stated responsibilities.\nBe able to multitask, think strategically and work towards continual improvement of internal processes.\nPAY AND BENEFITS\n Hourly Rate Range:$37.01 Starting Rate\n$53.33 Top Progression (48-Month Progression)Based upon current hourly rates.
