Position Summary

The Industrial Electrician is a hands-on role supporting the safe, reliable operation of Mariana’s mining and processing site. This position works across a broad range of electrical systems and projects, partnering closely with maintenance, operations, and engineering teams in a fast-paced industrial environment. The ideal candidate will bring strong industrial electrical experience, sound technical judgment, and a consistent commitment to safety. They should be comfortable working independently, collaborating across teams, and taking a proactive, solutions-oriented approach to troubleshooting and continuous improvement. Mining experience and a Journeyman Electrician license are preferred, but candidates with strong applicable industrial experience will also be considered.

Key Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, maintain, repair, and install industrial electrical systems, equipment, wiring, controls, and associated components.

  • Diagnose electrical and control system issues using schematics, prints, test equipment, PLC diagnostics, and systematic troubleshooting methods

  • Support PLCs, control wiring, instrumentation, motors, and remote equipment operation.

  • Work with 3-phase 480V systems, with additional exposure to 4,160V and 13.8kV electrical systems and power distribution.

  • Install conduit, pull wire, terminate components, and support new construction, equipment installations, upgrades, and site projects.

  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on plant equipment, lighting, building systems, HVAC-related electrical components, communications, and site infrastructure.

  • Partner with maintenance, operations, and engineering teams to identify root causes, resolve equipment issues, and support reliable operations.

  • Perform all work in accordance with NEC, MSHA, company safety standards, and applicable regulatory requirements while consistently following required PPE and safe work practices.

Desired Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 4 years of electrical experience in industrial, mining, processing, heavy manufacturing, or a similar environment.

  • Journeyman Electrician license preferred, or willingness and ability to obtain.

  • Strong industrial electrical troubleshooting experience, including 3-phase systems and equipment operating at 120V, 208V, 480V, 4,160V, and 13.8kV.

  • Experience troubleshooting controls, control wiring, PLC-related equipment, and other industrial electrical systems.

  • Ability to independently diagnose electrical and control system issues, identify root causes, and determine safe, effective corrective actions.

  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, prints, drawings, and diagrams.

  • Proficiency with electrical test equipment, hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments.

  • Strong safety judgment, communication skills, and ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a cross-functional maintenance team.

  • Experience troubleshooting and maintaining industrial rectifier systems is a plus.

  • MSHA certification or willingness to obtain.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to walk long distances over rough, uneven terrain and climb ladders and structures.

  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.

  • Ability to work in all weather conditions, including extreme temperatures.

  • Must wear and properly use required PPE, including hard hat, steel-toed footwear, safety glasses, high-visibility vest, hearing protection, respirator (as required), and protective clothing.

  • Ability to work in environments with potential exposure to dust, fumes, diesel exhaust, solvents, sulphuric acid, and other hazardous materials.
