Marias Business Analysts translate our customers' business needs into clear requirements and specifications that configuration, development, and testing teams can act on. As part of this you will own specification writing for complex initiatives, propose solutions when system functionality doesn't align with business needs, and help our customers get the system behavior they actually need. And it's our job to help our customers succeed.\nAs a Senior Business Analyst on our Business Analysis team, you'll operate with significant independence-owning specification writing for complex initiatives, translating insurance business needs into system requirements, and proposing solutions when insurance requirements don't align with existing system functionality. You'll flex into testing or test-management support as needed, and mentor other Business Analysts along the way.\nWe're a family-owned business, which shapes how we work more than you might expect. And the work you bill directly impacts the community that we call home.\nWhat you'll do\nThis role builds on the Business Analyst position, with more ownership across complex initiatives.\nYou'll:\nWrite detailed, testable functional specifications-spanning both off-the-shelf configuration and customization needs-from business requirements and system analysis\nReview manuals, screens, and system behavior in depth to translate complex needs into specifications\nTranslate insurance business needs into system requirements and own specification writing for complex initiatives\nPropose solutions when insurance business needs do not align with current system functionality\nLead or support requirements walkthroughs and specification reviews with technical and business stakeholders\nIndependently lead client meetings and requirements sessions\nDesign test scenarios and, when needed, execute or oversee testing and testing management for assigned initiatives\nMap data flows between system components and identify downstream impacts of requirement changes\nWrite billing specifications and identify billing-related gaps between requirements and system capability\nWrite integration specifications and coordinate with technical teams on third-party data exchanges\nMay assign and review the work of other Business Analysts, and oversee their adherence to project timelines\nMentor other Business Analysts\nLead training sessions for client personnel on new or modified functional/business applications software\nPrioritize across multiple concurrent workstreams\nPresent a professional appearance and demeanor in social situations, and be prepared to participate in trade shows or customer visits\nWhat you need\nRequired\nAssociate's degree in a related field; equivalent work experience considered in lieu of degree\nMicrosoft (Teams, Excel, Word, Outlook) experience\n3+ years of experience in business analysis or insurance systems work\nProficiency with requirements/documentation and defect tracking tools (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps, Confluence, DevStride)\nDeep working knowledge of insurance functional areas: policy, rating, billing, claims, and print/output\nDeep working knowledge of billing rules, plans, and configuration within at least one Policy Admin System\nWorking knowledge of integration architecture: data mapping, file/API exchange formats, and dependency identification\nAbility to work full-time, in-office in Covington, OH\nAbility to travel up to 25% for trade shows and client visits\nPreferred\nBachelor's degree in Business, Technology, Management, Accounting, or a related field\nExperience with insurance carrier software implementation or system upgrade projects\nAbout the pay range\n$65,000-$95,000 depending on experience.The starting salary depends on a variety of factors, including geographic location, relevant experience, and qualifications-tell us honestly where you are and we'll do the same.\nWho thrives here\nYou own outcomes.You take specifications from business need through delivery, not just until they're written\nYou communicate with clients directly.Leading requirements sessions and client meetings is part of this job\nYou solve problems.You identify root causes and propose practical solutions\nYou mentor others.You help Associate Business Analysts grow\nYou manage competing priorities.You keep multiple initiatives moving at once\nYou have integrity.You do the right thing when it's inconvenient, and you own your mistakes\nWhat we offer\nPay: $65,000-$95,000/year depending on experience, paid semi-monthly (15th and end of month) via direct deposit\nHealth coverage -
