Work With Us | Maricopa County, AZ\nWe Require\nTwo years of automotive mechanic experience\nHigh school diploma or GED\nPost-secondary education in Automotive Technology or a closely related field may substitute for one year of the experience requirement\nOther Requirements\nSuccessful candidates must currently possess, or have the ability to obtain, a valid Arizona driver's license by the time of hire\nMust possess or can obtain the necessary emission certification through the Arizona Department of Environmental Quality (ADEQ) within 90 days of hire to perform emissions testing and compliance activities; obtaining this certification is a condition of employment\nWe Also Value\nAutomotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification\nCompletion of two years of an automotive trade school\nJob Contributions\nInspect, diagnose, and perform complex repairs on light-duty vehicles and equipment, including engine systems, electrical/electronic components, braking, climate control, drivetrain, suspension, and body systems; test for proper operation and estimate repair time and cost\nPerform routine preventative maintenance on light-duty vehicles, including oil and filter changes, equipment inspections, and thorough annual inspections, and conduct vehicle emissions testing to ensure compliance with state and federal environmental regulations\nPerform road and operational tests of vehicles after repairs to verify safe, reliable performance; document test results and any follow-up repairs\nMaintain service records; document diagnostic findings and repair notes; prepare repair cost estimates; and enter all information into the fleet maintenance tracking system\nMaintain an accurate inventory of parts \nPromote and maintain a safe and compliant work environment by upholding safety standards, maintaining shop cleanliness, and proactively identifying and reporting hazards to leadership\nOther duties as assigned\nWorking Conditions\nThis position requires the employee to be in the office/field or customer-facing for all hours worked\nExerting 20 - 25 pounds occasionally, 10 - 25 pounds frequently, or up to 10 pounds constantly\nIncumbent may be subjected to extreme temperatures, wetness/humidity, respiratory hazards, and noise and vibration\nIncumbent may be subjected to moving mechanical parts, vibrations, fumes, odors, dusts, poor ventilation, chemicals, oils, extreme temperatures, inadequate lighting, workspace restrictions, intense noises, and travel\nMachines, Tools, Equipment, Software, and Hardware\nAll specialized equipment, software, and hardware will be provided by Equipment Services.
