Work With Us | Maricopa County, AZ\nWe Require\nTwo years of experience as a resident engineer on roadway, bridge, and transportation construction projects\nBachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related field\nRegistration as a Professional Engineer (PE) by the Arizona State Board of Technical Registration, or by the technical board of another state, with the ability to obtain Arizona registration within six months of employment\nOther Requirements\nSuccessful candidates must currently possess, or have the ability to obtain, a valid Arizona Driver's license by the time of hire and have an acceptable driving record.\nWe Also Value\nFour or more years of professional civil engineering work experience\nExperience on federally funded construction projects\nExperience in review of projects for constructability and bid-readiness\nCertified Construction Manager (CCM) and/or training in Job-Order-Contract construction delivery method\nJob Contributions\nManage, plan, and coordinate various-sized construction projects from routine to complex, including roadway, bridge, drainage, and transportation improvements\nPerform construction oversight, administration, and management duties with full responsibility and accountability for all aspects of projects\nReview, inspect, and monitor projects under contract; resolve discrepancies between field conditions and design plans; recommend methods of resolving complex problems\nReview projects for design clarity, accuracy, constructability, and bid-readiness. Perform constructability reviews to identify overlooked issues that increase costs, impair the schedule, and decrease quality to achieve the best bid package possible\nAct as MCDOT liaison with other adjoining communities as it relates to construction projects\nAttend or chair meetings with inspectors, contractors, utility companies, survey crews, material testing labs, consultants, and engineers to ensure a successful project\nReceive and resolve customer issues and questions; provide the requested information; and inform customers of the work status of proposed and existing projects\nInitiate the contract process of consultants and job order contractors by creating a scope of work, participating in the selection process, negotiating the contract, and ultimately managing the contract and the work performed under the contract\nOther job duties as assigned\nWorking Conditions\nThis position is eligible for hybrid flexibility after a brief training period\nExerting 20 - 25 pounds occasionally, 10 - 25 pounds frequently, or up to 10 pounds constantly\nThe position is typically located in an office environment.
