Our Information and Support team provides trusted, evidence-based information for people affected by terminal illness, those supporting them, and health and social care professionals. The right information, at the right time, can make a real difference to someone navigating terminal illness.\nWe’re looking for an experienced Senior Editor to join our Information and Support Content team. Working alongside editors, healthcare professionals, subject matter experts and people with lived experience, you’ll help develop and maintain high-quality information across our digital, print and video channels.\nAs Senior Editor, you’ll play a key role in ensuring our information is accurate, accessible, compassionate and genuinely useful to the people who rely on it. You’ll lead content development and review projects, translate complex evidence into clear and practical information, and help identify opportunities to expand and improve our information service. You’ll also line manage an Editor, supporting editorial quality and professional development across the team.\nWhat you will be doing:\nDevelop, write, edit and review evidence-based health and social care information across digital, print and video formats.\nManage the end-to-end content development and review process, ensuring information is accurate, up to date and delivered to agreed deadlines.\nResearch clinical guidelines, literature and other evidence sources, translating complex information into clear, accessible content.\nLead projects to develop new information, identifying audience needs, content gaps and opportunities to improve the service.\nLine manage an Editor, providing guidance, feedback and support while maintaining high editorial standards across the team.\nCollaborate with healthcare professionals, subject matter experts and people with lived experience to ensure content is accurate, relevant and meets users’ needs.\nWork closely with Digital, Creative, Marketing and Support Line teams to develop, publish and promote information across different channels.\nMaintain editorial consistency, following established style guides, tone of voice, accessibility standards and content production processes.\nSupport improvements to editorial workflows, content quality and service evaluation, contributing to the ongoing development of the information service.\nWhat we’re looking for:\nExtensive experience writing and editing health or social care information for the public and/or healthcare professionals.\nExcellent editorial skills, with the ability to communicate complex and sensitive subjects clearly, accurately and compassionately.\nStrong research skills, including reviewing literature, evaluating evidence and translating research findings into accessible information.\nExperience working within structured content development and review processes, such as PIF TICK, with an understanding of editorial quality assurance.\nGood understanding of digital and print content production, including experience using website content management systems (CMS).\nExperience collaborating with healthcare professionals, subject matter experts, volunteers or people with lived experience to develop content.\nStrong project management and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality work to deadlines.\nExcellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the confidence to engage and collaborate with stakeholders across different teams and disciplines.\nA commitment to accessible, inclusive information and a genuine interest in improving support for people affected by terminal illness.\nPlease see the full job description HERE.\n What’s in it for me?\nSalary: £38,007-42,230 per annum, depending on experience\nContract: Permanent, full-time (35h per week)\nBased: Home-based (UK) or hybrid role\nBenefits You’ll Love\nFlexible working.
