You will work alongside experienced engineers and gradually take on more responsibility as your understanding of the systems grows.\nToday, our systems are primarily based on PLC and HMI platforms, but we are currently developing our next-generation control system, which will be PC-based, running Linux, with Qt-based displays. This provides an opportunity to work with both established technologies and modern software platforms.\nThis position is well suited for someone early in their career who is curious, structured, and eager to learn how real-world control systems are built, maintained, and supported over long lifecycles.\nKey responsibilities\nSupport development, maintenance, and troubleshooting of control software for industrial and marine systems.\nWork with PLC-based control systems, learning to read, understand, and modify existing code.\nAssist with configuration and development of HMI applications used in operational systems.\nParticipate in testing and validation using development and simulation environments.\nSupport investigation of field issues together with senior engineers.\nCollaborate with colleagues in Sweden and support internal teams when needed.\nBe part of the development of our next-generation control system.\n\nRequired qualifications\nA degree in software engineering, automation, mechatronics, electrical engineering, or a related field.\nBasic understanding of programming concepts and structured code.\nInterest in industrial control systems, automation, or embedded/real-time software.\nWillingness to work with existing systems and learn from legacy codebases.\nAbility to work in a structured and careful manner, especially in environments where reliability is critical.\nGood communication skills in Swedish and English.\n\nPreferred (but not required)\nExposure to PLC programming (e.g. CODESYS or similar).\nBasic knowledge of industrial automation or control theory.\nExperience from internships, thesis work, or projects related to automation or embedded systems.\nInterest in systems that combine software, hardware, mechanics, and hydraulics.\n\nPersonal qualities\nFor this role, attitude and mindset are more important than specific tools.
